The field of teams remaining in the 2022 FIFA World Cup soon will be down to eight.

The knockout stage began on Saturday, with Argentina and the Netherlands each advancing to set up the tournament’s first quarterfinal matchup. On Sunday in the round of 16, France defeated Poland 3-1 behind two goals by Kylian Mbappé, and England blanked Senegal 3-0 to set up a showdown between the two teams in the quarterfinals. Monday saw Croatia defeat Japan in penalty kicks and Brazil top South Korea 4-1.

With the stage now set for Argentina-Netherlands, France-England and Brazil-Croatia, the final quarterfinal matchup will be determined on Tuesday as the round of 16 concludes with Morocco against Spain and Portugal against Switzerland.
