2022 NFL draft: Twitter reacts to Vikings’ second in-division trade
The Chicago Bears are officially the only NFC North team the Minnesota Vikings haven’t traded with—yet.
So much for division rivals steering clear of the negotiating table with one another. Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s door is obviously open to any and everyone, assuming they have a deal that he likes.
And like the Detroit Lions on day one, the Packers had one of those deals on day two.
The Vikings traded the No. 34 overall pick to the Packers for the No. 53 and 59 picks. A positive way of looking at the deal is the fact that they got their second-round pick back that was included in the trade with the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.
However, the negative point is them paving the way for two division rivals to land potential game-breakers at the receiver position—Jameson Williams to the Lions and Christian Watson to the Packers.
There are still some serious question marks for the Vikings at the cornerback position, and now, they’ve made things exponentially tougher on themselves by allowing two division rivals to add major receiving weapons to their offenses.
Here’s what people are saying about the trade on Twitter.
Vikings fans weren't any happier about this trade

The Minnesota Vikings have made two in-division trades.
Detroit selected Jameson Williams. Green Bay selected Christian Watson.
They now have to worry about defending these guys twice a year for the next…decade?

if the draft pool is so poor that we do not want anyone, Why the hell are we trading down? Again? @NFLDraft @Vikings

Minnesota Vikings #NF#NFLDraft worst GM ownership in NFL. Trade to the Packers? Idiots

Unless this is all about salary cap manipulation, neither of the @Vikings trades make any sense. Passing up on elite talent to trade down and add lower quality picks…twice? Quality > Quantity #Skol

It may be late April, but the Minnesota Vikings are like Santa Claus in this #NFLDraft with all the trading down they've done these first 2 days & to division rivals no less!!! #Skol https://t.co/73zsz0hzN4

2nd time the Minnesota Vikings have traded down and WRs were picked with their pick. DET AND GB in the division. Williams and Watson
I guess now Minnesota can draft CBs to cover all the WRs

This draft might still work out well for the @Vikings but two trades with divisional rivals is an odd start for the new regime.

STOP TRADING OUR PICKS TO OUR RIVALS

The @Vikings are really good at helping draft players for their NFC North rivals! What a joke.

ANOTHER bad trade.

@Vikings Did you all forget to tell Kwesi that the Minnesota Vikings play in the NFC North with the lions, packers, and bears?
