20 high school volleyball players to watch from the Gadsden area going into postseason play

It's time for postseason volleyball and here are 18 players to watch when area tournaments get started on Tuesday:

Ace Austin, Spring Garden

Why chosen: Ace is a multisport athlete with plenty of major college basketball offers, but stars in volleyball as well, with more than 500 kills this year.

Neveah Gaidurgis, Cherokee County

Why chosen: Gaidurgis has been a leader for the Warriors with a 302 kills and 295 digs.

Cooper Garrett, Fort Payne

Why chosen: Garrett has been a star for the Wildcats this season with 420 kills, 386 assists and 179 digs.

Ellisan Givens, Cherokee County

Why chosen: Givens has 420 digs and 53 assists for the Warriors.

Emma Greer, Albertville

Why chosen: The senior middle hitter has 251 kills to go along with 183 digs and 47 blocks for the Aggies.

Jansen Gregg, Gadsden City

Why chosen: The Titans have once again set the win record, with major help from Gregg's 219 assists.

Savannah Hall, Fort Payne

Why chosen: Hall has 169 kills and 100 blocks on the year.

Jordyn Knight, Sardis

Why chosen: From her outside hitter position Knight has shined with 222 digs and 118 kills.

Macy Lea, Cherokee County

Why chosen: Lea has been a nominee for the Gadsden Times area athlete of the week. Lea has 743 assists on the season.

Jovi Marble, Southside

Why chosen: The libero has 448 digs and 48 aces on the season.

Molly Morrison, Albertville

Why chosen: Morrison has 346 digs and 286 kills for the Aggies.

Ali Price, Plainview

Why chosen: Price has 1,001 assists on the season and 5,000 in her career for the Bears.

Chloe Rule, Spring Garden

Why chosen: Rule has helped Spring Garden win the Cherokee County tournament.

Chloe Stephens, Sand Rock

Why chosen: Stephens is a part of a strong senior class with 638 digs and 61 aces on the season.

Avery Steward, Spring Garden

Why chosen: Steward has more than 1,000 assists during her junior season.

Katelyn St. Clair, Sand Rock

Why chosen: During the season, St. Clair has earned multiple nomination for Athlete of the Week along with being a weekly top performer. She has 636 kills, 326 digs and 65 aces for the Wildcats.

Rylin St. Clair, Sand Rock

Why chosen: A two-time Gadsden Times Athlete of the Week winner she has 1,076 assists and 242 digs on the season.

Lydie Varnadore, Fort Payne

Why chosen: Varnadore comes from an athletic family, her brother is the starting QB for the Wildcats but she has made her own name with a 534 assists, 293 digs and 226 kills on the season.

Kathryn Webb, Southside

Why chosen: Webb has more than 3,000 career assists, including 496 on the season with 50 aces.

Vada Willmore, Sardis

Why chosen: Willmore has 283 kills and 213 digs on the season.
