The 13U B.A.T.S. fastpitch softball squad won the Michigan state title last week in a tournament held in Canton, MI

The 13U B.A.T.S. fastpitch softball team brought home a big honor this last week, winning the 2023 USSSA 13U Open Division Michigan state tournament in dramatic fashion with a two out walk off 9-8 victory. The tournament was made up of 30 teams from across the state and was played in Canton, MI. June 15-18.

The B.A.T.S. are an elite fastpitch softball travel team based out of Coldwater that plays numerous games in the USSSA circuit during the spring and summer months. The team is comprised of local student-athletes and includes a coaching staff of head coach Aaron Bucklin and assistant coaches Ryan Bucklin and Joe Creager.

Members of the team include Audrina Bucklin, Addyson Bucklin, Vandria Bucklin, Ellerie Bucklin and Kendall Diamond of Coldwater; Mallorie Hufnagle and Emma Creager of Fremont, IN.; Riley Duran of Angola, IN.; Miley Pointdexter of Quincy; and Riley Butler and Brooklen Minix of Homer.

The B.A.T.S. 13U softball program will be back in action this coming weekend when they travel to Coldwater’s Heritage Park for the annual Battle at the Borders, beginning Friday at 3 p.m. versus the GO Warriors Fastpitch team on Heritage Park 2-Field Prome.
