With his 12th, 13th and 14th straight field goals, Texas' Bert Auburn makes a Big 12 case

Bert Auburn may have delivered a final argument for his case as the best kicker in the conference. The junior made all three of his field-goal attempts, and none of them were shorter than 39 yards. A 50-yarder gave Auburn a new career mark.

Auburn has now made 14 consecutive field-goal attempts entering the regular-season finale against Texas Tech.

So, Bert, should the game against Iowa State sway the voters who decide the All-Big 12 team?

“I hope so,” Auburn said. “The Big 12’s known for always having good kickers, and I'm hoping I can do at least better than last year. I think it was an honorable mention last year, so hopefully I can be better than that.”
