Jillian Aholt, G: Father Tolton

Aholt has a chance to build off of some late-season success that she found in districts last season for Tolton. With first-year head coach Aqua Bradley, who was a successful guard at Hickman and Columbia College, Aholt has a chance to learn under a talented mentor.

Braylin Brunkhorst, PG: Centralia

Brunkhorst won the Tribune's Newcomer of the Year after a stellar freshman year where she averaged 11 points her game and three rebounds per game while shooting 32 percent from 3-point range. She flourished alongside Jozelynn Bostick, and now Brunkhorst can take a massive step of her own.

Chloe Bukowsky, SG: Southern Boone

Southern Boone was loaded last season. It's why the Eagles made it to the Final Four, and Bukowsky was a massive part of that. She established herself as one of the best shooters in the county, and with another big season, she can be one of the best shooters in the state.

Emma Fischer, G: Harrisburg

The Bulldogs' leading scorer from last season will aim to fill the shoes of Carli Ellis, who took care of plenty of the scoring for Harrisburg. Fischer was a stout defender and shooter for Harrisburg last year, and she'll have a chance to be a leader.

Jayda Griffith, G: Hickman

Hickman's accurate sniper also filled the stat sheet in plenty of other ways. Along with her nine points per game, she averaged three rebounds, four assists and two steals. That production will be significant for the Kewpies in a difficult CMAC.

Ashtyn Klusmeyer, F: Hickman

Klusmeyer has proven to be one of the most talented players in Columbia, scoring 15 points per game last season. If she takes her game to the next level, she can provide a new level of star power to the Kewpies roster that will make them contenders in the CMAC.

Mari Miller, G: Rock Bridge

Miller is one of the best players in the state as a junior. She can guard multiple positions, score on multiple levels and provide key leadership for the Bruins. Miller's improvement from her freshman year to her sophomore season was massive; a similar growth could be coming in her junior year.

Jayda Porter, C: Rock Bridge

Porter doesn't need much introduction. She was an all-state player as a freshman, averaging 14 points and eight rebounds per game. That scratches the surface of her potential.

Tayla Robinson, PG: Battle

Having an upperclassman at point guard is a necessity; having an upperclassman point guard who has two years of starting experience is a luxury. Robinson is one of the best floor generals as a junior, and she's on the barrier of 1,000 career points.

Nautica Washington, G: Battle

Washington has played for Battle since she was a freshman. As a senior, she has a chance to play an important role as one of the Spartans' best offensive players. Washington can attack the basket in different ways and shoot the ball. That can be one of Battle's strengths.

Hickman's Ashtyn Klusmeyer (21), Sy'Rae Stemmons (23) and Rock Bridge's Cora Smith (23) go for a loose ball on Jan. 26, 2023, at Hickman High School.
