Zorbing In Lonavala
India has finally embraced the sport of zorbing. Hugely popular in New Zealand, which was the first country to commercialise the sport, zorbing is gaining traction in a few sites in Lonavala, Maharashtra.
Della Adventure, one of India’s largest adventure parks, is known for activities such as zorbing, rocket ejector and ATV rides. Located at Kunegaon near Lonavala, the adventure park is roughly a two hours’ drive from Mumbai. You are harnessed inside the elastic ball, which sits within another ball, with air in between, and are rolled down a gentle slope. Della Adventure Park offers three categories – Water Zorbing, Aqua Zorbing and Roller Zorbing. Water Zorbing is not harnessed; instead you are placed inside a plastic ball, just one this time, and have to manually roll yourself across the 100ft long swimming pool. You can run or walk your way across, but whatever you choose – we hear this one’s a bit tiring.There is a weight limit for this sport. Those above 80kgs cannot perform this activity.
