After a judge's ruling against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling cleared the way for ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer's $2 billion purchase of the team, the NBA said Tuesday the sale of the franchise is closed. This transaction roughly ties the sale of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the highest price paid for a professional sports franchise.
