Mid-day meal horror: Death served on a platter
The tragedy is indescribable when parents have to bury their kids. 23 school children in Bihar who were served mid-day meal at a government school in Saran district, never returned to their homes. Forensic report confirmed presence of insecticide in the food served, responsible for the death of children and the irreparable damage done to their families. Following the tragedy in Bihar, many more cases of food poisoning were reported in many across the country, raising questions over the quality of food served in the mid-day meal scheme.
