Wesley Matthews scores 28, Trail Blazers cruise past Knicks

The Portland Trail Blazers shot really well in this game, finishing 38-81 (46.9%), in a blowout 101-79 win over the New York Knicks. Portland (25-7) has now won three straight.

Wesley Matthews had another strong game, scoring 28 points on 10-21 shooting, including 6-15 on 3-point attempts. Other key players for Portland included Chris Kaman with 13 points and nine rebounds, Damian Lillard with 11 points and six assists, and Joel Freeland with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Despite the loss, Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 17 points for New York on 5-17 shooting (3-10 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 4-7 from the free throw line.

The Trail Blazers combined an eFG% of 56.8% with 44.4% 3-point shooting. They are 4-1 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Knicks, on the other hand, are winless (0-10) when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

New York (5-28) has now dropped their last eight straight games.

Coming up, the Trail Blazers play the Toronto Raptors, who are 24-7 on the season. The Knicks go up against the Los Angeles Clippers, currently sitting at 20-11 this year.
