Week 13 Target Watch: AFC

The Rotoworld staff discusses the stretch-run fate of recently-emerged fantasy options

Welcome to the Week 13 AFC Target Watch. Below I've given you each individual's game-by-game targets for weeks 7 through 13 and then their average targets per game during that span in parentheses and then each player's total red zone targets for weeks 9 through 13.

You can check out the NFC version HERE.

Baltimore Ravens

Steve Smith: 5-9-8-7-BYE-6-4 (6.5), Torrey Smith: 5-2-7-8-BYE-6-8 (6), Owen Daniels: 9-dnp-9-4-BYE-5-3 (6), Justin Forsett: 1-5-8-1-BYE-2-3 (3.3), Kamar Aiken: 1-6-1-1-BYE-0-4 (2.2), Kyle Juszczyk: 1-1-2-3-BYE-3-2 (2), Marlon Brown: dnp-1-3-2-BYE-1-3 (2), Mike Campanaro: 1-3-dnp-dnp-BYE-dnp-dnp (2), Crockett Gillmore: 1-2-2-1-BYE-0-1 (1.2), Lorenzo Taliaferro: 0-3-3-0-BYE-0-0 (1), Bernard Pierce: 1-dnp-0-0-BYE-1-1 (0.6), Jacoby Jones: 0-1-0-0-BYE-0-2 (0.5)

Over the last six games Torrey Smith still trails Steve Smith Sr. in targets, 39 to 36, but has a 23/382/5 line to Senior’s 19/246/1 line. Smith has a knee injury right now, which could make this a moot point, but it appears that the cream has risen to the top while the older, feistier cream has gone a bit rancid.

After these two there hasn’t been any receiver to really show much. Owen Daniels has done very little and hasn’t been targeted much of late, so he looks to have fallen back into the silent majority of tight ends this season.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Torrey Smith: Run 0/ Tar 6, Steve Smith: Run 0/ Tar 4, Owen Daniels: Run 0/ Tar 3, Crockett Gillmore: Run 0/ Tar 2, Kyle Juszczyk: Run 0/ Tar 2, Justin Forsett: Run 19/ Tar 2, Marlon Brown: Run 0/ Tar 1, Bernard Pierce: Run 1/ Tar 0, Joe Flacco: Run 3/ Tar 0

Buffalo Bills

Sammy Watkins: 14-6-BYE-10-7-5-9 (8.5), Robert Woods: 5-3-BYE-8-5-11-7 (6.5), Chris Hogan: 6-1-BYE-7-9-3-4 (5), Bryce Brown: dnp-3-BYE-7-10-0-0 (4), Fred Jackson: 3-dnp-BYE-5-dnp-4-4 (4), Scott Chandler: 6-2-BYE-6-3-3-3 (3.8), Chris Gragg: 2-0-BYE-1-1-3-dnp (1.4), Anthony Dixon: 4-0-BYE-0-2-1-0 (1.2), Frank Summers: 1-0-BYE-3-0-dnp-dnp (1), C.J. Spiller: 1-dnp-BYE-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp (1), Lee Smith: 0-2-BYE-1-0-1-0 (0.7), MarQueis Gray: 0-0-BYE-dnp-dnp-dnp-2 (0.5), Marquise Goodwin: dnp-dnp-BYE-0-dnp-dnp-1 (0.5), Marcus Thigpen: dnp-dnp-BYE-1-0-0-0 (0.2), Mike Williams: 0-0-BYE-dnp-1-0-dnp (0.2)

I thought Kyle Orton had turned Sammy Watkins into a star, but unfortunately he has not. Instead of force-feeding Watkins like it appeared was the plan, he’s spreading the wealth and throwing to guys who are open. Lame. Since Week 10 Watkins and Robert Woods have had the same number of targets with 31 and Woods has a line of 21/256/1 to Watkins’ 13/105/0 while Chris Hogan leads in the touchdown department with two during that span. So both Hogan and Woods are outperforming Watkins at the moment.

We know what Watkins can do, but we have to look at the production of Woods and say he is the man right now. With all three seeing targets it also hurts each player's upside. But with Sammy as the third most productive back he probably needs to be sat in your fantasy playoffs even though it pains me to say.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Chris Hogan: Run 0/ Tar 5, Robert Woods: Run 0/ Tar 5, Scott Chandler: Run 0/ Tar 5, Sammy Watkins: Run 0/ Tar 4, Frank Summers: Run 1/ Tar 1, Fred Jackson: Run 10/ Tar 1, Anthony Dixon: Run 5/ Tar 1, Bryce Brown: Run 2/ Tar 1, Kyle Orton: Run 1/ Tar 0

Cincinnati Bengals

A.J. Green: dnp-dnp-6-10-8-16-8 (9.6), Mohamed Sanu: 9-9-8-7-6-7-3 (7), Jermaine Gresham: 12-4-6-6-3-6-5 (6), Giovani Bernard: 5-2-dnp-dnp-dnp-3-1 (2.8), Greg Little: 2-5-0-4-dnp-dnp-dnp (2.8), Rex Burkhead: 0-dnp-3-4-3-dnp-dnp (2.5), Jeremy Hill: 1-4-1-2-1-1-4 (2), James Wright: 2-0-0-2-1-2-5 (1.7), Cedric Peerman: 1-0-4-0-0-0-0 (0.7), Brandon Tate: 2-2-1-0-0-0-0 (0.7), Dane Sanzenbacher: 2-0-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-0 (0.7), Ryan Hewitt: 0-1-2-0-0-0-1 (0.6), Kevin Brock: 0-0-0-2-0-0-0 (0.3)

Mohamed Sanu hasn’t fallen off the face of the earth since A.J. Green returned from his toe injury, but he’s lost all of his upside and last week he saw a season low three targets. He’s still targeted enough to have a decent chance at a touchdown each week since before his three target day he was seeing around an average of seven targets with Green back and a decent number of red zone looks. So deep leaguers can feel okay throwing him out there, but you know what you’re getting.

Since Gio Bernard returned he has seen a total of four targets to Jeremy Hill’s five. Bernard has had 30 touches to Hill’s 35 during those two games as well. Hill has outplayed him overall since returning, but Bernard looked better than he has in a while last week. It appears they will continue to split work pretty much down the middle with Hill having more touchdown upside.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: A.J. Green: Run 1/ Tar 9, Mohamed Sanu: Run 0/ Tar 8, Jermaine Gresham: Run 0/ Tar 4, Andy Dalton: Run 3/ Tar 0, Jeremy Hill: Run 12/ Tar 0, Giovani Bernard: Run 5/ Tar 0, Cedric Peerman: Run 1/ Tar 0

Cleveland Browns

Josh Gordon: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-16-13 (14.5), Andrew Hawkins: 9-9-8-dnp-13-5-3 (7.8), Miles Austin: 8-2-5-6-8-8-9 (6.6), Jordan Cameron: 6-5-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp (5.5), Taylor Gabriel: 7-3-6-5-13-2-1 (5.3), Travis Benjamin: 4-2-4-5-3-2-2 (3.1), Gary Barnidge: 1-1-4-4-5-3-1 (2.7), Jim Dray: 0-2-1-1-2-1-4 (1.6), Isaiah Crowell: 2-1-0-0-4-0-2 (1.3), Ray Agnew: 1-dnp-dnp-dnp-1-1-1 (1), Terrance West: 1-2-1-0-0-1-1 (0.9)

Josh Gordon is really the only name I need to write when talking about the Browns’ targets, but I’ll write a bit more to fill the space! Gordon had 16 targets his first game back and followed that up with 13 targets his next. With Jordan Cameron coming back at some point he theoretically could lose some to him, but Mile Austin is in the hospital, so we may just see the targets transfer laterally between those two.

Andrew Hawkins has seen the biggest dip in targets since Gordon showed back up with just eight over the last two games while Austin had 17 to Gordon’s 29. Hawkins should see a bump with Austin hurting, but like I said, we may also see Cameron back. It’s a bit like musical chairs, but with footballs being thrown at you while you try to sit down.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Josh Gordon: Run 0/ Tar 3, Taylor Gabriel: Run 0/ Tar 3, Travis Benjamin: Run 0/ Tar 2, Miles Austin: Run 0/ Tar 2, Andrew Hawkins: Run 0/ Tar 2, Terrance West: Run 13/ Tar 1, Brian Hoyer: Run 2/ Tar 0, Isaiah Crowell: Run 7/ Tar 0, Ben Tate: Run 5/ Tar 0, Johnny Manziel: Run 1/ Tar 0

Denver Broncos

Demaryius Thomas: 9-12-11-14-10-13-13 (11.7), Emmanuel Sanders: 3-9-16-8-8-13-11 (9.7), Ronnie Hillman: 4-4-10-5-dnp-dnp-dnp (5.8), Julius Thomas: 6-6-2-7-3-dnp-dnp (4.8), Wes Welker: 3-2-8-5-6-4-2 (4.3), C.J. Anderson: 0-0-4-7-10-4-3 (4), Jacob Tamme: 0-1-5-0-10-1-2 (2.7), Montee Ball: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-2-dnp-dnp (2), Andre Caldwell: 1-0-0-1-4-0-1 (1), Juwan Thompson: 0-1-1-0-1-0-0 (0.4), Cody Latimer: dnp-0-0-1-dnp-0-1 (0.4), Virgil Green: 0-0-dnp-dnp-dnp-0-1 (0.2)

We know Demaryius Thomas is the target king in Denver, but Emmanuel Sanders isn’t far behind him. On the season they have extremely comparable numbers per target. This had Julius Thomas pretty much a touchdown dependent fantasy player before he hurt his ankle, but when you talk about a Denver player being touchdown dependent it’s different than a Raiders’ player being touchdown dependent. So when Julius returns, he still should have plenty of upside based on touchdowns, but Sanders and D.T. remain the go to for most of the receiving yards.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Demaryius Thomas: Run 0/ Tar 13, Ronnie Hillman: Run 4/ Tar 5, Jacob Tamme: Run 0/ Tar 5, C.J. Anderson: Run 9/ Tar 5, Wes Welker: Run 0/ Tar 5, Emmanuel Sanders: Run 0/ Tar 4, Julius Thomas: Run 0/ Tar 3, Peyton Manning: Run 3/ Tar 0, Juwan Thompson: Run 2/ Tar 0

Houston Texans

Andre Johnson: 9-12-7-BYE-9-12-11 (10), DeAndre Hopkins: 9-11-11-BYE-8-9-9 (9.5), Arian Foster: 6-6-3-BYE-dnp-dnp-7 (5.5), Damaris Johnson: 2-4-2-BYE-8-5-1 (3.7), Garrett Graham: 3-1-1-BYE-2-7-0 (2.3), Alfred Blue: 1-1-2-BYE-0-4-0 (1.3), Keshawn Martin: 1-0-1-BYE-1-1-1 (0.8), Ryan Griffin: 0-0-0-BYE-0-1-3 (0.7), Jonathan Grimes: 0-0-0-BYE-0-4-0 (0.7), C.J. Fiedorowicz: 1-0-0-BYE-0-0-0 (0.2)

Andre Johnson still leads the team in targets and has only had fewer targets than DeAndre Hopkins once this season, but we know what Hopkins has been doing with his targets, yes, scoring many fantasy points for your teams is what.

Over the last six games Johnson has seen 60 targets to Hopkins’ 57, but Hopkins has a line of 35/675/3 to Johnson’s 31/301/1. That’s a yards per reception difference of 19.3 to 9.7. So Johnson is now a glorified possession receiver while Hopkins is the playmaker. As long as we know that we can still feel good about Johnson getting PPR production while we risk the big upside of Hopkins on slightly fewer targets.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: DeAndre Hopkins: Run 0/ Tar 5, Garrett Graham: Run 0/ Tar 4, Andre Johnson: Run 0/ Tar 4, Arian Foster: Run 0/ Tar 3, Jonathan Grimes: Run 2/ Tar 1, Ryan Griffin: Run 0/ Tar 1, Damaris Johnson: Run 0/ Tar 1, Ryan Fitzpatrick: Run 2/ Tar 0, Alfred Blue: Run 9/ Tar 0

Indianapolis Colts

Reggie Wayne: 8-dnp-10-BYE-9-9-5 (8.2), T.Y. Hilton: 9-10-6-BYE-7-5-5 (7), Coby Fleener: 5-4-11-BYE-7-4-7 (6.3), Ahmad Bradshaw: 3-7-5-BYE-5-dnp-dnp (5), Donte Moncrief: 2-12-1-BYE-1-4-4 (4), Dwayne Allen: 6-2-5-BYE-0-dnp-dnp (3.2), Hakeem Nicks: 1-6-4-BYE-5-1-0 (2.8), Trent Richardson: 5-dnp-2-BYE-1-1-0 (1.8), Daniel Herron: 0-1-1-BYE-0-5-2 (1.5), Jack Doyle: 1-0-0-BYE-1-3-1 (1), Griff Whalen: 0-3-0-BYE-0-dnp-dnp (0.8)

We know that T.Y. Hilton is the best fantasy player on the Colts not named Luck, but after him it gets dicey every week. Reggie Wayne is the next logical player as he is right up there with Hilton in targets, but his production has caught up with his age of late. So even though he has 95 targets to Hilton’s 101, he only has a line of 65/720/2 to Hilton’s 60/1041/6. Like Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins, the youth movement has caught up to these stud receivers.

As you can see though, even Hilton has just 60 receptions through 12 games. This Colts team spreads the work around, but just a few targets can give a player big numbers as we saw last week with Donte Moncrief who appears to have finally passed Hakeem Nicks, but of course that still leaves him as the third wide receiver who also has to compete with tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen who should be back this week to help spread the targets out even more.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Jack Doyle: Run 0/ Tar 3, Ahmad Bradshaw: Run 5/ Tar 2, T.Y. Hilton: Run 0/ Tar 2, Coby Fleener: Run 0/ Tar 2, Reggie Wayne: Run 0/ Tar 2, Hakeem Nicks: Run 0/ Tar 2, Daniel Herron: Run 3/ Tar 1, Trent Richardson: Run 3/ Tar 1, Dwayne Allen: Run 0/ Tar 1, Andrew Luck: Run 3/ Tar 0, Donte Moncrief: Run 1/ Tar 0

Jacksonville Jaguars

Allen Robinson: 7-10-8-10-BYE-dnp-dnp (8.8), Cecil Shorts: 9-8-7-7-BYE-3-8 (7), Allen Hurns: 2-4-9-2-BYE-4-8 (4.8), Marqise Lee: 3-2-0-3-BYE-5-8 (3.5), Clay Harbor: 6-4-2-4-BYE-0-2 (3), Marcedes Lewis: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-BYE-3-3 (3), Denard Robinson: 1-2-2-3-BYE-5-4 (2.8), Jordan Todman: 1-2-1-6-BYE-3-2 (2.5), Toby Gerhart: dnp-1-4-0-BYE-4-0 (1.8), Nic Jacobs: 0-1-0-1-BYE-0-0 (0.3), Ace Sanders: 1-0-0-1-BYE-0-0 (0.3), Will Taufoou: 1-0-0-0-BYE-0-0 (0.2)

The Jaguars defense helped them find a win last week, but we are still in a fairly dark bottomless pit for fantasy points in Jacksonville. Even Denard Robinson who was putting up good numbers is now getting caught up in Blake Bortles’ inability to lead the offense on many sustained drives.

Last week Marquise Lee had eight targets and caught six for 75 yards and his first career touchdown. He had his highest number of snaps and showed us some promise for fantasy points, but I don’t think you can trust anyone who Bortles is throwing to at the moment. Lee has ability and now more opportunity, but this isn’t Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Cecil Shorts: Run 0/ Tar 4, Marqise Lee: Run 0/ Tar 4, Allen Hurns: Run 0/ Tar 2, Toby Gerhart: Run 2/ Tar 1, Jordan Todman: Run 1/ Tar 1, Clay Harbor: Run 0/ Tar 1, Blake Bortles: Run 1/ Tar 0, Denard Robinson: Run 9/ Tar 0

Kansas City Chiefs

Dwayne Bowe: 7-6-10-12-4-5-5 (7), Jamaal Charles: 4-4-4-4-2-7-6 (4.4), Travis Kelce: 4-6-5-2-5-5-3 (4.3), Jason Avant: 5-1-4-2-0-dnp-4 (2.7), DeAnthony Thomas: 2-4-1-0-1-6-2 (2.3), A.J. Jenkins: 2-0-3-4-dnp-dnp-dnp (2.2), Anthony Fasano: 1-4-3-1-dnp-2-1 (2), Donnie Avery: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-2 (2), Junior Hemingway: 1-0-2-3-0-2-dnp (1.3), Anthony Sherman: 2-1-1-2-1-1-0 (1.1), Demetrius Harris: 1-1-1-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp (1), Frankie Hammond: 2-1-0-0-0-3-0 (0.9), Phillip Supernaw: dnp-dnp-1-dnp-1-0-dnp (0.7), Knile Davis: 1-1-0-1-1-0-0 (0.6), Albert Wilson: 1-0-1-0-0-2-0 (0.6)

So Travis Kelce leads Kansas City in receiving yards over the last three weeks, but he’s doing that with just 10 receptions on 13 targets for 140 yards while Jamaal Charles leads the team with 15 targets in that span, which he’s turned into two touchdowns. And to make things even more painful for Kelce backers, Anthony Fasano has two touchdown receptions on three targets over that same span of time. I’m really not sure how you can feel good about any non-Jamaal Charles to put up fantasy numbers in this offense and even he isn’t getting enough work.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Jamaal Charles: Run 11/ Tar 4, DeAnthony Thomas: Run 0/ Tar 3, Anthony Fasano: Run 0/ Tar 3, Dwayne Bowe: Run 0/ Tar 2, Travis Kelce: Run 0/ Tar 2, Junior Hemingway: Run 0/ Tar 1, A.J. Jenkins: Run 0/ Tar 1, Knile Davis: Run 4/ Tar 1, Alex Smith: Run 4/ Tar 0

Miami Dolphins

Mike Wallace: 8-7-8-8-7-5-11 (7.7), Jarvis Landry: 5-3-6-10-5-11-11 (7.3), Charles Clay: 5-3-8-9-6-dnp-dnp (6.2), Brandon Gibson: dnp-3-2-2-3-6-3 (3.2), Brian Hartline: 3-4-7-1-4-2-1 (3.1), Dion Sims: 2-2-dnp-dnp-2-5-4 (3), Lamar Miller: 3-3-2-2-2-1-3 (2.3), Damien Williams: 2-0-2-3-3-2-0 (1.7), Daniel Thomas: 3-2-2-0-0-0-1 (1.1), Rishard Matthews: 0-2-1-1-1-3-0 (1.1), LaMichael James: dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-dnp-1-dnp (1), Gator Hoskins: dnp-dnp-1-1-0-0-1 (0.6)

Mike Wallace and Jarvis Landry each have 46 targets over the last six games while Landry has a line of 35/286/4 to Wallace’s 24/302/2. So Wallace continues to see deeper targets while Landry sees closer targets, but Ryan Tannehill is much more accurate on shorter targets, so we can see why Landry is killing him in receptions and touchdowns of late.

Usually this kind of breakdown means that Wallace would be the high upside player while Landry would be the stable PPR guy, but with Tanny’s skill set leaning more toward Landry’s skill set, it makes Landry on par with Wallace in upside, but with a higher floor.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Charles Clay: Run 0/ Tar 9, Jarvis Landry: Run 0/ Tar 6, Mike Wallace: Run 0/ Tar 5, Brandon Gibson: Run 0/ Tar 4, Lamar Miller: Run 12/ Tar 3, Damien Williams: Run 7/ Tar 3, Gator Hoskins: Run 0/ Tar 1, Daniel Thomas: Run 6/ Tar 1, Brian Hartline: Run 0/ Tar 1, Dion Sims: Run 0/ Tar 1, Ryan Tannehill: Run 4/ Tar 0

New England Patriots

Julian Edelman: 9-4-10-BYE-8-15-10 (9.3), Rob Gronkowski: 10-9-10-BYE-5-10-12 (9.3), Brandon LaFell: 5-11-13-BYE-4-12-7 (8.7), Shane Vereen: 8-5-10-BYE-4-9-2 (6.3), Timothy Wright: 0-7-0-BYE-2-6-1 (2.7), Danny Amendola: 3-2-3-BYE-2-1-1 (2), Aaron Dobson: dnp-dnp-dnp-BYE-dnp-dnp-1 (1), James Develin: 0-0-2-BYE-1-0-0 (0.5), LeGarrette Blount: 1-2-0-BYE-0-0-0 (0.4), Brian Tyms: 0-0-0-BYE-2-0-0 (0.3), Michael Hoomanawanui: 0-0-0-BYE-1-0-1 (0.3), Brandon Bolden: 1-0-0-BYE-0-0-0 (0.2), Jonas Gray: 0-0-1-BYE-0-dnp-0 (0.2)

Tom Brady has found three receivers he feels comfortable throwing to, so that means three receivers have fantasy value each week for the Patriots, which hasn’t always been the case. Those three players are Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and Brandon LaFell. Over the last six games they have seen 56/56/52 targets and 37/39/38 receptions respectively. That could cap each individual’s upside a bit, but it appears Edelman is the oddest man out of the trio when it comes to yards and touchdowns. He is averaging six receptions and 55 yards over the last six games and has just one touchdown, while Gronk is averaging 6.5 receptions for 95 yards and has totaled five touchdowns and LaFell is averaging 6.3 receptions, 72 yards and has totaled four touchdowns. All three have value, but Gronk and LaFell are the best buys for your X-mas stockings.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Julian Edelman: Run 0/ Tar 7, Brandon LaFell: Run 0/ Tar 6, Rob Gronkowski: Run 0/ Tar 4, Timothy Wright: Run 0/ Tar 3, Shane Vereen: Run 3/ Tar 2, Tom Brady: Run 0/ Tar 0, Brandon Bolden: Run 2/ Tar 0, Jonas Gray: Run 13/ Tar 0, LeGarrette Blount: Run 6/ Tar 0

New York Jets

Eric Decker: 7-11-12-4-BYE-8-4 (7.7), Percy Harvin: dnp-9-13-5-BYE-5-3 (7), Jeremy Kerley: 5-5-4-1-BYE-5-1 (3.5), Jace Amaro: 5-5-0-5-BYE-2-dnp (3.4), Chris Johnson: 3-2-3-1-BYE-4-0 (2.2), Jeff Cumberland: 4-3-2-0-BYE-3-1 (2.2), David Nelson: 2-dnp-dnp-dnp-BYE-dnp-dnp (2), Chris Ivory: 4-2-0-0-BYE-3-0 (1.5), Bilal Powell: 2-0-0-1-BYE-dnp-3 (1.2), Chris Owusu: dnp-1-dnp-dnp-BYE-dnp-dnp (1), Greg Salas: dnp-dnp-2-0-BYE-0-0 (0.5), T.J. Graham: 1-1-0-1-BYE-0-0 (0.5), Zach Sudfeld: 0-0-0-0-BYE-0-1 (0.2)

Geno Smith threw the ball 13 times as the Jets tried to recreate the olden age of football and it almost worked, but then it didn’t. Since this article focuses mainly on targets and the passing game, the 65 total yards receiving for the five players who saw targets doesn’t really seem worth the time and effort. The Jets are not good. You should not have any of their players on your team in the fantasy playoffs. You should drop them for handcuffs or someone else’s handcuffs.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Percy Harvin: Run 1/ Tar 5, Jace Amaro: Run 0/ Tar 4,Eric Decker: Run 0/ Tar 3, Jeremy Kerley: Run 0/ Tar 2, Greg Salas: Run 1/ Tar 0, Chris Johnson: Run 5/ Tar 0, Geno Smith: Run 0/ Tar 0, Michael Vick: Run 3/ Tar 0, Chris Ivory: Run 4/ Tar 0, Bilal Powell: Run 1/ Tar 0

Oakland Raiders

James Jones: 8-11-5-12-5-6-8 (7.9), Mychal Rivera: 1-9-11-8-5-4-8 (6.6), Andre Holmes: 5-7-5-1-6-10-6 (5.7), Darren McFadden: 8-6-5-7-3-2-2 (4.7), Vincent Brown: dnp-dnp-dnp-6-dnp-4-4 (4.7), Marcel Reece: dnp-6-3-2-3-5-8 (4.5), Kenbrell Thompkins: 1-8-2-0-3-1-5 (2.9), Brice Butler: 1-2-2-4-3-3-2 (2.4), Maurice Jones-Drew: 0-2-2-1-0-0-4 (1.3), Latavius Murray: 0-0-2-1-4-0-dnp (1.2), Denarius Moore: 1-1-2-2-0-0-dnp (1), Jamize Olawale: 1-0-0-0-0-0-0 (0.1),

See Above.

We have a similar fantasy offense in Oakland as we have in New York, but on a lot more passes. Not one Raiders player has more than 55 yards receiving in a single game since Week 8 when James Jones hit a lofty 67 yards. Marcell Reece led the team in receiving last week with 48 yards and this comes after Derek Carr threw the ball 39 times. For fantasy purposes we can hope that Latavius Murray breaks out to end the season, but that is truly the only hope.

Red Zone Targets+Touches: Mychal Rivera: Run 0/ Tar 5, James Jones: Run 0/ Tar 3, Darren McFadden: Run 1/ Tar 1, Denarius Moore: Run 1/ Tar 1, Marcel Reece: Run 2/ Tar 1, Latavius Murray: Run 2/ Tar 1, Maurice Jones-Drew: Run 0/ Tar 1, Brice Butler: Run 0/ Tar 1, Derek Carr: Run 1/ Tar 0

Pittsburgh Steelers

Antonio Brown: 13-13-16-9-11-BYE-12 (12.3), Le'Veon Bell: 8-7-6-10-4-BYE-11 (7.7), Martavis Bryant: 5-7-5-7-5-BYE-4 (5.5), Heath Miller: 1-8-2-3-5-BYE-14 (5.5), Markus Wheaton: 2-5-4-7-5-BYE-9 (5.3), Lance Moore: 2-3-1-2-1-BYE-5 (2.3), Will Johnson: 1-2-1-1-0-BYE-0 (0.8), Darrius Heyward-Bey: 1-1-0-1-0-BYE-1 (0.7), Dri Archer: 0-1-1-0-1-BYE-0 (0.5), Matt Spaeth: 0-0-1-0-0-BYE-0 (0.2)

Fantasy owners of Steelers players are quite thankful that the Steelers went all out to finish out garbage time against the Saints last week. In what was a lost cause, Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell and Heath Miller put up huge numbers. This is a fantasy offense because the star players are very good and their defense is poor enough to make their offense always on the attack.

The targets over the last six games have been pretty much focused on their best players Antonio Brown who leads the team during that span with 12.3 per game and Le’Veon Bell who is second with 7.7. It’s kind of refreshing to see a team give its best players the ball often.

Martavis Bryant is third during that span with 5.5 targets per game, which isn’t really enough to have stable production, but it is enough to give him plenty of upside based on his ability. He will remain boom or bust, but we know what his boom looks like now (cheeky!).

Keenan Allen: 10-13-9-BYE-13-9-15 (11.5), Malcom Floyd: 7-7-5-BYE-6-5-6 (6), Antonio Gates: 5-8-5-BYE-3-2-8 (5.2), Eddie Royal: 5-3-1-BYE-3-6-10 (4.7), Branden Oliver: 2-8-2-BYE-3-4-0 (3.2), Donald Brown: dnp-dnp-2-BYE-2-2-1 (1.8), Ryan Mathews: dnp-dnp-dnp-BYE-1-2-2 (1.7), Ladarius Green: 0-1-1-BYE-2-3-2 (1.5), Ronnie Brown: 1-1-1-BYE-dnp-dnp-dnp (1), Seyi Ajirotutu: 0-0-0-BYE-0-1-1 (0.3), David Johnson: 0-0-0-BYE-1-0-0 (0.2), John Phillips: 1-0-0-BYE-0-0-0 (0.2)

My Keenan Allen love is paying off! Over the last six games he’s seen 11.5 targets per game and has caught 44 for 466 yards and four touchdowns. If you look at his stats since the Week 10 bye, they look even better. He hasn’t dipped below nine targets since Week six, while the rest of the receivers haven’t seen more than eight targets in a game other than Eddie Royal last week with 10. There is no consistency for any of the other receivers near Allen’s right now.

Antonio Gates had a good game last week after seeing eight targets, but the three games prior he had seen a total of ten targets. Royal has had a similar rollercoaster target ride. After his hot start he saw a total of 17 targets between weeks 5-11. Malcom Floyd has been steadier in his targets, but they’ve been steadily low at around 5 per game.

Tennessee Titans

Kendall Wright: 9-5-BYE-7-8-6-9 (7.3), Delanie Walker: 5-9-BYE-5-dnp-9-3 (6.2), Justin Hunter: 2-10-BYE-2-4-10-3 (5.2), Nate Washington: 1-4-BYE-3-2-6-9 (4.2), Dexter McCluster: 1-4-BYE-0-2-3-3 (2.2), Bishop Sankey: 1-4-BYE-3-1-3-0 (2), Leon Washington: 2-3-BYE-3-0-0-1 (1.5), Derek Hagan: 2-2-BYE-0-1-0-3 (1.3), Chase Coffman: 1-0-BYE-3-4-0-0 (1.3), Jackie Battle: 2-0-BYE-1-2-0-0 (0.8)

The Titans’ offense is a bit of a mess, but Zach Mettenberger has shown some ability to move his team down the field. Of course there is little consistency and picking the one receiver who will have a good fantasy day is difficult. The injury to Justin Hunter may be somewhat of a blessing in disguise. His upside is of course great, but his real side has been about as bad as you can get. With him gone, at least Delanie Walker, Nate Washington and Kendall Wright will be more consistent and probably help sustain drives rather than drop passes. He wasn’t seeing a ton of targets, but with Hunter gone we should see the targets focus on the above three and give at least some reason to expect each player’s fantasy floor to be raised up just a smidgen.
