WATCH: Henrik Lundqvist talks hockey with David Letterman

Being the most famous player on a New York team certainly comes with its perks. New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist enjoyed one of those unique perks when he was invited to be a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman Monday night.

The dapper netminder regaled Letterman with tales of how he got into goaltending, the pressure of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Los Angeles Kings and how he goes about making the saves he makes on a nightly basis. The two bantered back and forth, and Lundqvist held his own with the comedy icon, showing the calm demeanor he often brings to the ice.

Here's Part 1 of Lundqvist's talk with Letterman:

In addition to taking up two segments, Lundqvist got quite the introduction from Letterman:

"You know, there’s a lot of things in the world to think about in one's lifetime. Some things you think 'Oh, I wish I could do this, I bet I could do that. Oh, I think I could do this, I bet I could do that.' Our next guest, I could never… If I live to be 1,000, I could never do what this guy does. Who can do what this guy does? I have nothing but endless admiration for him."

How do you follow that up? The nattily-attired Lundqvist kept things straightforward, dealing with Letterman like he does with most of the media in his measured delivery. Even when Letterman tried to get a rise out of him, King Henrik kept his calm, cool approach.

"Many times, Henrik, you look just like a crazy man swatting at flies," Letterman quipped. The comment brought a nervous smile and chuckle from Lundqvist.

Here is Part 2:

During the second segment, Letterman got back to his praise of the athleticism it takes to be a goaltender.

"You've got to be superhuman," Letterman told Lundqvist. "You're superhuman. How do you feel about kryptonite?"

Lunqvist and the defending Eastern Conference champion Rangers open the season Oct. 9 in St. Louis against the Blues.
