Vikings LB Greenway to miss rest of offseason

Knee surgery will sideline middle linebacker Chad Greenway for the remainder of Minnesota Vikings' offseason workouts.

The team's leading tackler for each of the past five seasons, Greenway is scheduled for arthroscopic surgery Wednesday. He was absent Tuesday from the team's eighth voluntary organized team activity (OTA) session.

"He had a little tension in his knee," head coach Leslie Frazier said. "We just wanted to get it done now rather than run into a situation where we get to (training) camp and it continued to bother him."

Greenway, who had 148 tackles in 2012, should be ready to go in July when the Vikings report to training camp at Mankato. He will miss next week's mandatory three-day minicamp.
