UNLV's Goodman suspended following arrest

UNLV announced Saturday night that coach Dave Rice suspended sophomore Savon Goodman for the entire season.

Goodman faces two first degree felonies for burglary and grand larceny stemming from an arrest on May 18. He also faces a gross misdemeanor charge for conspiracy to commit burglary.

Goodman is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

"We are aware of the Savon Goodman situation and we are gathering more information," Rice said in a statement. "I will have no comment today specific to this. Having said that, regardless of the resolution, Savon will not play in games this entire season so he can focus on getting his priorities in order."

Rice told the Las Vegas Sun that Goodman will remain on the team and is scheduled to attend classes starting Monday.

Goodman averaged 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds in nine minutes last season.
