UFC on FOX 17: dos Anjos vs. Cerrone 2 Gate and Attendance from Orlando

The UFC returned to Orlando, Fla., on Saturday night for UFC on FOX 17: Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone II, which featured the main event rematch between lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and the man who looked to take that belt, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.

It was the promotion's second event in Orlando, packing 14,459 fans into the Amway Center for a reported gate of $1.71 million, according to Dave Sholler, UFC Vice President of Public Relations.

The main event didn't really go the way hardly anyone expected with dos Anjos making quick work of Cerrone. In the opening minute, dos Anjos landed a knee to the midsection, followed by a kick to the body, and a flurry of punches, which put Cerrone on the fence. He then dragged the Cowboy down to the mat and finished him with ground and pound at the 1:06 mark of the fight.

Alistair Overeem upset Junior dos Santos in the co-main event, dropping the former UFC heavyweight champ with a left hook to the chin before following him to the canvas and dropping a couple final shots for the TKO stoppage.
