Titans to re-sign DE Ball

Defensive end Dave Ball will return to the Titans for a fifth season after agreeing to a one-year deal Thursday.

Ball is unlikely to remain a starter, but has been used at left defensive end and, in the Titans' nickel defense, slides to defensive tackle.

Coach Mike Munchak said the team didn't get enough push from its defensive ends last season, which led the Titans to sign Kamerion Wimbley. Ball, 31, and Karl Klug, impressive as a rookie in 2012, would be a lot for an interior offensive line to handle in pass-rushing situations.

Terms of the deal weren't immediately available.
