Thunder's Perkins has wrist surgery

Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins underwent successful surgery on Thursday to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist, the team announced.

It's the second surgical procedure Perkins has undergone this month. On July 12, the Thunder announced Perkins underwent a successful procedure on his right groin.

Perkins, 27, suffered the wrist injury in the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. His groin injury occurred in the opening round of the playoffs against Dallas.

Perkins should be able to return to normal offseason activities in 4-6 weeks and is expected to be ready for the start of the upcoming season.

Perkins started 65 regular-season games this past season, when he averaged 5.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.12 blocks.
