Texas WR Jaxon Shipley questionable vs. UCLA with head injury

When it rains, it pours. Just ask the Texas offense.

Already facing major losses at quarterback and on the offensive line -- and fresh off a 41-7 home defeat to BYU -- the Longhorns got more bad news Tuesday when a statement from trainer Anthony Pass called senior wide receiver Jaxon Shipley "questionable" to play in Saturday's game vs. No. 12 UCLA.

Per the Associated Press, Pass's statement said Shipley is suffering from a head injury sustained in the BYU game. Further details were disclosed.

The absence of Shipley would be yet another blow to an offense that gained just 249 yards against the Cougars and cannot sustain many more personnel losses at this early stage in the season. Shipley has led the Longhorns in receptions each of the past two years, catching 56 balls in 2013. He also finished second on the team in receiving yardage each of the past three contests dating back to last season, having already amassed 79 yards on 11 receptions in two 2014 games.

Shipley has also served as the team's punt returner on occasion.
