Texans WR Johnson cleared for Sunday

Houston wide receiver Andre Johnson received medical clearance for Sunday's game in Baltimore against the Ravens, Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Friday.

Johnson suffered a concussion last week in the fourth quarter of Houston's 30-24 overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans on a hit by safety Bernard Pollard.

Some of Johnson's teammates took exception to the shot by Pollard, but Johnson seemed to be more understanding.

"It's part of the game," Johnson said on the Texans' website. "I signed up for it. I don't really have a problem with it. Those hits happen. That's pretty much it."

In the Texans' two wins to open the season, the 32-year-old Johnson has 20 receptions for a team-leading 222 yards, which ranks seventh in total yardage in the NFL. Last year, Johnson had a career-high 1,598 yards on 112 catches.
