Stephen Curry's 34 powers Warriors over Pelicans

Stephen Curry put up 34 points to help the Golden State Warriors edge the New Orleans Pelicans, 128-122. The Warriors took quality shots in this one, going 44-86 (51.2%) from the field, including 11-24 (45.8%) from three-point range. Golden State (21-2) is now on a 16-game winning streak, dating back to a 107-99 win against Brooklyn Nets on November 13th.

Curry finished 11-21 from the field (6-10 on 3-pointers) and 6-6 from the free throw line, in what was an efficient performance. Other top performers for Golden State were Andre Iguodala with 20 points and five rebounds, and Draymond Green with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Tyreke Evans had another strong performance for New Orleans despite the loss, scoring 34 points on 13-25 shooting (2-5 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 6-9 from the free throw line. He also tallied eight rebounds and five assists. Jrue Holiday chipped in 30 points and nine assists and Ryan Anderson finished with 15 points and six rebounds.

Along with their eFG% of 57.6%, the Warriors connected at a rate of 45.8% from 3-point range. On the season, they are 7-1 when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Pelicans are winless (0-5) when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.

This drops New Orleans (11-12) to 0-2 versus Golden State on the season.
