Stats, stats and more stats

Dustin Byfuglien's contract extension and Sidney Crosby's hot streak headline Tuesday's Hockey Dose

A Happy New Year to all! May everyone have good health and happiness this year.

Since there isn’t a lot of news coming out from the NHL during the three day Christmas break, I thought I would give you the team leaders in a bunch of categories, including hits, blocks and face offs (we have a weekly column on these stats in Season Pass) as well as shots on goal. I have also included the traditional categories, goals, assists, plus/minus and penalty minutes.

Don’t forget, for everything NHL, check out Rotoworld's Player News, and follow @Rotoworld_ HK and@mfinewaxhockey on Twitter.

Now to The Week Ahead.

INJURIES

Boone Jenner is out a month or two with a stress fracture in his lower back. (Click here to see the rest of the injury list.)

Note: A tired team is one that has played the day or night before and is going against a team that did not play the previous day or night. The reverse is true for a rested team.

ARIZONA

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Sam Gagner finally had a good game in a Coyotes uniform and he did it against his former Edmonton teammates as he had two goals and two assists on Tuesday. Mike Smith continues to struggle and it looks like Devan Dubnyk is starting to take over as the starter as Dubnyk is 7-3-2 while Smith is 5-15-2. Team leaders: Goals: Mikkel Boedker 9…Assists: Keith Yandle 19…Points: Yandle 23…Plus/Minus: Brandon Gormley 4…Penalty Minutes: Kyle Chipchura 47…Hits: Shane Doan 82…Blocks: Zbynek Michalek 86…Face Off Wins: Antoine Vermette 421… Shots on Goal: Yandle and Oliver Ekman-Larsson 105.

BOSTON

Games this week

vs. Detroit, vs. Toronto, vs. Ottawa, @ Carolina

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Carolina (Sunday)

Notes

Loui Eriksson is finally turning into the player the Bruins hoped for when they dealt Tyler Seguin to Dallas as he has six goals and eight points in his last eight games. Dougie Hamilton has 18 points in his last 26 games and is worth looking at as he is not owned in 27 percent of Yahoo leagues. Team Leaders: Goals: Brad Marchand 10…Assists: Patrice Bergeron 20…Points: Bergeron 26…Plus/Minus: Marchand 9…Penalty Minutes: Milan Lucic 62…Hits: Lucic: 105…Blocks: Seidenberg 65…Face Off Wins Bergeron 466… Shots on Goal Bergeron 100.

BUFFALO

Games this week

@ Ottawa, vs. Tampa Bay, vs. Florida, @ New York Rangers

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ New York Rangers (Saturday)

Notes

The Sabres play four times this week, including three games in four nights so look for Michal Neuvirth to play once in place of Jhonas Enroth. Matt Moulson has missed the last three games with flu-like symptoms but should be back this week. Marcus Foligno is out months with a hand injury. Team Leaders: Goals: Zegmus Girgensons 9…Assists: Tyler Ennis 15…Points: Ennis 23…Plus/Minus: Girgensons 2…Penalty Minutes: Marcus Foligno 43…Hits: Nicolas Deslauriers 108…Blocks: Josh Gorges 87…Face Off Wins: Girgensons 241… Shots on Goal: Ennis 83.

CALGARY

Games this week

vs. Los Angeles, vs. Edmonton, vs. New York Islanders

Rested Team: vs. Edmonton (Wednesday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

You have to love the top three Calgary defensemen Mark Giordano, T.J. Brodie and Dennis Wideman who have totaled 26 goals and 53 assists in 36 games this season. Fourth defenseman Kris Russell has yet to score but has 15 assists. Johnny Gaudreau picked up his first career hat trick this past week and the little dynamo has 10 goals and 27 points in 35 games. Team Leaders: Goals: Jiri Hudler 13…Assists: Mark Giordano 24…Points: Giordano 34…Plus/Minus: T.J. Brodie 17…Penalty Minutes: Brandon Bollig 40…Hits: Lance Bouma 105…Blocks: Kris Russell 109…Face Off Wins: Sean Monahan 387… Shots on Goal: Monahan 97.

CAROLINA

Games this week

vs. Montreal, @ Pittsburgh, vs. Philadelphia, vs. Boston

Rested Team: vs. Boston (Sunday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

There is a possibility that Jordan Staal (leg) could return to action Monday in time to play the Canadiens. There are plenty of trade rumors surrounding the Hurricanes including the chance that Andrej Sekera could be headed elsewhere. Alexander Semin is out once again, this time with an upper body injury. He has only one goal and six points in 22 games. Team Leaders: Goals: Jiri Tlusty 10…Assists: Justin Faulk 14…Points: Faulk 20…Plus/Minus: Brett Bellemore 1…Penalty Minutes: Brad Malone 31…Hits: Tim Gleason 80…Blocks: Andrej Sekera 62 …Face Off Wins: Riley Nash 287… Shots on Goal: Jeff Skinner 104.

CHICAGO

Games this week

vs. Nashville, @ Washington, vs. Dallas

Rested Team: vs. Dallas (Sunday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

Corey Crawford returned on December 20 to action and Scott Darling was returned to the minors. Brad Richards has missed a couple of games with an upper body injury but could return on December 27. Patrick Sharp replaced him on a line with Patrick Kane and Kris Versteeg and had a three assist night on Sunday. Team Leaders: Goals: Patrick Kane 16 …Assists: Kane 20…Points: Kane 36…Plus/Minus: Kris Versteeg 15…Penalty Minutes: Andrew Shaw and Daniel Carcillo 28…Hits: Bryan Bickell 74…Blocks: Johnny Oduya 61…Face Off Wins: Jonathan Toews 418… Shots on Goal: Kane 110.

COLORADO

Games this week

@ St. Louis, vs. Philadelphia, vs. Edmonton, vs. Columbus

Rested Team: vs. Columbus (Sunday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

Semyon Varlamov returned to the Avs lineup on Tuesday so look for Calvin Pickard to be sent to the minors sooner rather than later as the team wants Pickard to get playing time. Reto Berra will continue to be the backup in Colorado. Erik Johnson already has nine goals, equally his total of last season. Team Leaders: Goals: Alex Tanguay 12 …Assists: Tyson Barrie 18…Points: Tanguay 24…Plus/Minus: Tanguay and Zach Redmond 5…Penalty Minutes: Cody McLeod 76…Hits: McLeod 95…Blocks: Erik Johnson 66…Face Off Wins: Matt Duchene 260… Shots on Goal: Gabriel Landeskog 107.

COLUMBUS

Games this week

vs. Minnesota, @ Arizona, @ Colorado

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Colorado (Sunday)

Notes

Scott Hartnell (finger) is expected to return this week if not sooner as he has missed the last five games. Alex Wennberg scored his first NHL goal in his career on Monday. He was selected 14th overall in the 2013 draft and is highly regarded. Sergei Bobrovsky was 8-0-1 in December before giving up four goals on Monday before being pulled in a 5-1 loss to Nashville. Team Leaders: Goals: Nick Foligno 16…Assists: Ryan Johansen 21…Points: Foligno and Johansen 30…Plus/Minus: Kerby Rychel 3…Penalty Minutes: Jared Boll 49…Hits: Foligno 90…Blocks: Jack Johnson 46…Face Off Wins: Johansen 359… Shots on Goal: Cam Atkinson 98.

DALLAS

Games this week

vs. New York Rangers, vs. Arizona, vs. Minnesota, @ Chicago

Rested Team: vs. Minnesota (Saturday)

Tired Team: @ Chicago (Sunday)

Notes

Ryan Garbutt returned this past week from a suspension. Ales Hemsky is still struggling with two goals and 10 points in 30 games with a minus-13 rating. The Stars goaltending has been suspect with Kari Lehtonen at 13-8-5 with a 2.99 GAA and a .904 save percentage. Team Leaders: Goals: Tyler Seguin 25…Assists: Jamie Benn 20…Points: Seguin 42…Plus/Minus: Seguin 5…Penalty Minutes: Antoine Roussel 76…Hits: Erik Cole 65…Blocks: Trevor Daley 67…Face Off Wins: Jason Spezza 279… Shots on Goal: Seguin 137.

DETROIT

Games this week

@ Boston, vs. New Jersey, @ Vancouver

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Jimmy Howard has been just awful in shootouts this season as he has allowed 11 goals on just 15 shots. Stephen Weiss is having trouble staying healthy as he took an apparent elbow to his head Tuesday after just returning from a shoulder injury. Niklas Kronwall suffered an upper body injury on Tuesday and is day-to-day for now. Team Leaders: Goals: Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar 14…Assists: Henrik Zetterberg 23…Points: Zetterberg 30…Plus/Minus: Tomas Jurco 8…Penalty Minutes: Kyle Quincey 35…Hits: Justin Abdelkader 67…Blocks: Niklas Kronwall 48…Face Off Wins: Zetterberg 271… Shots on Goal: Zetterberg 113.

EDMONTON

Games this week

vs. Los Angeles, @ Calgary, @ Colorado, vs. New York Islanders

Rested Team: vs. Los Angeles (Tuesday)

Tired Team: @ Calgary (Wednesday)

Notes

The Oilers play three games in four nights as part of their four game week so it’s expected that Viktor Fasth will play at least once with Ben Scrivens getting the remainder of the starts. The Oilers could still send Leon Draisaitl to the WHL. He has only played 34 games and the next magic mark is 40 in which it burns a year towards free agency. The 10 game mark only burns a year of an entry level contract. Team Leaders: Goals: Taylor Hall 10…Assists: Jordan Eberle 14…Points: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins 22…Plus/Minus: Steve Pinizzotto and Keith Aulie 2…Penalty Minutes: Aulie 32…Hits: Matt Hendricks 85…Blocks: Mark Fayne 85…Face Off Wins: Boyd Gordon 326… Shots on Goal: Hall 88.

FLORIDA

Games this week

vs. Montreal, vs. New York Rangers, @ Buffalo, @ Washington

Rested Team: vs. Montreal (Tuesday)

Tired Team: vs. New York Rangers (Wednesday)

Notes

The Panthers have three games in four nights and play four times overall this week so look for Al Montoya to play once with Roberto Luongo getting the other three appearances between the pipes. I thought that Shawn Thornton would have a big season penalty minutes wise but a groin injury since the start of the season has put a halt to that. Tomas Fleischmann was a big scorer for the Panthers as recently as two seasons ago, but has fallen so far, that he was a healthy scratch on Monday. Team Leaders: Goals: Nick Bjugstad 12…Assists: Aaron Ekblad 14…Points: Bjugstad and Ekblad 19…Plus/Minus: Ekblad and Tomas Fleischmann 6…Penalty Minutes: Erik Gudbranson 31…Hits: Derek MacKenzie 102…Blocks: Willie Mitchell 76…Face Off Wins: Bjugstad 249… Shots on Goal: Bjugstad 89.

LOS ANGELES

Games this week

@ Calgary, @ Edmonton, @ Vancouver, vs. Nashville

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Edmonton (Tuesday)

Notes

The Kings are on the road for the first three games of the week as they are in Western Canada to play three games in four nights. Martin Jones should play once this week with Jonathan Quick seeing action in three games. Trevor Lewis has goals in back-to-back games and now has six on the season. Team Leaders: Goals: Marian Gaborik and Tanner Pearson 11…Assists: Drew Doughty 17…Points: Jeff Carter 26…Plus/Minus: Tyler Toffoli 14…Penalty Minutes: Matt Greene 38…Hits: Robyn Regehr 101…Blocks: Doughty 62…Face Off Wins: Jarret Stoll 297… Shots on Goal: Doughty 96.

MINNESOTA

Games this week

@ Winnipeg, @ Columbus, vs. Toronto, @ Dallas

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Dallas (Saturday)

Notes

The Wild take on the Jets in the back half of a home-and-home series and Marco Scandella could get into a fight as he is the Wild’s leading penalty minute accumulator. Minnesota plays three games in four nights as part of a four game week so expect to see Niklas Backstrom play at least once for Darcy Kuemper. Charlie Coyle scored on Tuesday for the first time in 27 games. Team Leaders: Goals: Nino Neidereiter 14…Assists: Ryan Suter 21…Points: Zach Parise 27…Plus/Minus: Jonas Brodin 13…Penalty Minutes: Marco Scandella 38…Hits: Charlie Coyle 68…Blocks: Jared Spurgeon 61…Face Off Wins: Mikko Koivu 402… Shots on Goal: Jason Pominville 115.

MONTREAL

Games this week

@ Carolina, @ Florida, @ New Jersey, @ Pittsburgh

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Florida (Tuesday)

Notes

Jiri Sekac has been a nice surprise this season as the rookie has six goals and 13 points in 28 games. After a conditioning stint, Dustin Tokarski is back with the Canadiens, backing up Carey Price. Price is second in the NHL in shots faced with 868, trailing only Cory Schneider of the Devils. Team Leaders: Goals: Max Pacioretty 13…Assists: Alex Galchenyuk, David Desharnais and P.K. Subban 15…Points: Pacioretty 27…Plus/Minus: Pacioretty 17…Penalty Minutes: Brandon Prust 73…Hits: Alexei Emelin 92…Blocks: Tom Gilbert 71…Face Off Wins: Manny Malhotra 364… Shots on Goal: Pacioretty 118.

NASHVILLE

Games this week

@ Chicago, vs. St. Louis, @ Los Angeles, @ Anaheim

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ Anaheim (Sunday)

Notes

Carter Hutton got a rare start in place of Pekka Rinne on Tuesday and gave up four goals on only 24 shots. Rinne has been outstanding this season as he has been the top fantasy goalie in the NHL with a 22-6-1 record to go with a 1.84 GAA and a .934 save percentage. Seth Jones, the fourth overall pick last season, scored his first of the season on Monday. I still like him in keeper pools. Team Leaders: Goals: Filip Forsberg 13…Assists: Forsberg and Mike Ribeiro 19…Points: Forsberg 32…Plus/Minus: Forsberg 24…Penalty Minutes: James Neal 37…Hits: Shea Weber 74…Blocks: Roman Josi 87…Face Off Wins: Ribeiro 258… Shots on Goal: Neal 109.

NEW JERSEY

Games this week

vs. Pittsburgh, @ Detroit, vs. Montreal, vs. Philadelphia

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

The Devils will likely give Keith Kinkaid play at least once this week as New Jersey plays three games in four nights as part of a four game week. Cory Schneider will see the rest of the action. New Jersey has lost seven of their last eight. Patrik Elias and Martin Havlat are unable to play as doctors are still determining if they have the mumps. Team Leaders: Goals: Michael Cammalleri 11…Assists: Jaromir Jagr 15…Points: Jagr and Adam Henrique 20…Plus/Minus: Stephen Gionta 5…Penalty Minutes: Jordin Tootoo 33…Hits: Tuomo Ruutu 77…Blocks: Andy Greene 88…Face Off Wins: Travis Zajac 275… Shots on Goal: Jagr 78.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS

Games this week

vs. Washington, @ Winnipeg, @ Calgary, @ Edmonton

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Jaroslav Halak could be hurt as he was given Tuesday night off. The Islanders recalled Kevin Poulin to back up Chad Johnson in the interim. John Tavares took a puck to his ear on December 20 but did not miss any games. Lubomir Visnovsky has two goals and 10 points in 24 games with a plus-five rating. Cal Clutterbuck is third in the NHL in hits with 134 but his teammate Matt Martin leads. Team Leaders: Goals: Brock Nelson 14…Assists: Kyle Okposo 21…Points: John Tavares and Okposo 29…Plus/Minus: Ryan Strome 12…Penalty Minutes: Travis Hamonic 52…Hits: Matt Martin 156…Blocks: Calvin De Haan 103…Face Off Wins: Tavares 273… Shots on Goal: Okposo 116.

NEW YORK RANGERS

Games this week

@ Dallas, @ Florida, vs. Buffalo

Rested Team: vs. Florida (Wednesday), vs. Buffalo (Saturday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

Dan Boyle has been in a slump this season but potted his second of the season on Tuesday as he ended a seven game point drought. Henrik Lundqvist is becoming the Lundqvist of old as he has won his last six starts. He is now 15-7-3 this season and his peripherals are improving as he has a 2.44 GAA and a .913 save percentage. Team Leaders: Goals: Rick Nash 23…Assists: Derick Brassard 19…Points: Nash 36…Plus/Minus: Nash 16…Penalty Minutes: Chris Kreider 52…Hits: Daniel Girardi 81…Blocks: Daniel Girardi 81…Face Off Wins: Brassard 273… Shots on Goal: Nash 116.

OTTAWA

Games this week

vs. Buffalo, @ Boston, vs. Tampa Bay

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: vs. Tampa Bay (Sunday)

Notes

Alex Chiasson, who was acquired in the Jason Spezza trade to Dallas, wants to sign a long-term deal with the Senators. Craig Anderson is having a nice season in goal despite an 8-9-4 record as his peripherals are a 2.41 GAA and a .929 save percentage. Team Leaders: Goals: Mike Hoffman 10…Assists: Kyle Turris and Erik Karlsson 16…Points: Turris and Karlsson 23…Plus/Minus: Hoffman 13…Penalty Minutes: Eric Gryba 64…Hits: Mark Borowiecki 110…Blocks: Borowiecki 50…Face Off Wins: Turris 291… Shots on Goal: Karlsson 129.

PHILADELPHIA

Games this week

@ Arizona, @ Colorado, @ Carolina, @ New Jersey

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

The Flyers play four games on the road this week and hope that Steve Mason has recovered from a back injury. If not, look for Ray Emery to play three times with Rob Zepp playing once. If Mason is able to go, it’s likely that he will split the net with Emery. Zepp won his first NHL game as he made his debut at the age of 33. He became the oldest netminder to win his debut since 1926 as the Flyers won one for the Zepper (that’s an Airplane! reference). Team Leaders: Goals: Wayne Simmonds 15…Assists: Jakub Voracek 32…Points: Voracek 46…Plus/Minus: Voracek 17…Penalty Minutes: Zac Rinaldo 37…Hits: Rinaldo 103…Blocks: Nick Schultz 66…Face Off Wins: Claude Giroux 484… Shots on Goal: Giroux 132.

PITTSBURGH

Games this week

@ New Jersey, vs. Carolina, vs. Tampa Bay, vs. Montreal

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

The Penguins play three games in four nights as part of a four game week. Look for Marc-Andre Fleury to play at least three times with Jeff Zatkoff playing once if Thomas Greiss has not returned from possibly having the mumps. Blake Comeau suffered a suspected wrist injury on Monday and is out several weeks. Team Leaders: Goals: Evgeni Malkin 16…Assists: Sidney Crosby 27…Points: Malkin 41…Plus/Minus: Christian Ehrhoff 15…Penalty Minutes: Steve Downie 135…Hits: Simon Despres 113…Blocks: Despres 49…Face Off Wins: Crosby 318… Shots on Goal: Patric Hornqvist 117.

ST. LOUIS

Games this week

vs. Colorado, @ Nashville, @ Anaheim, @ San Jose

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: @ San Jose (Saturday)

Notes

Brian Elliott (lower body) who was injured on November 25, partook in a full practice on Monday and while there is no timetable for his return at this time, he is getting close. Look for the Blues to let Martin Brodeur go once Elliott has shown he is 100 percent. Vladimir Tarasenko has been held pointless in his last two games so look for a big effort this week from the talented Russian. Team Leaders: Goals: Vladimir Tarasenko 20…Assists: Kevin Shattenkirk 23…Points: Tarasenko 37…Plus/Minus: Tarasenko 18…Penalty Minutes: Ryan Reaves 45…Hits: Reaves 102…Blocks: Alex Piertangelo 81…Face Off Wins: Jori Lehtera 282… Shots on Goal: Tarasenko 121.

SAN JOSE

Games this week

vs. Vancouver, @ Anaheim, vs. St. Louis

Rested Team: vs. St. Louis (Saturday)

Tired Team: @ Anaheim (Wednesday)

Notes

John Scott was suspended for four games for his punch on Tim Jackman. Melker Karlsson scored his first NHL goal on Monday. Matt Irwin has been a healthy scratch the last seven games. Mike Brown will be out another three-five weeks as he recovers from a broken fibula. He missed 22 games earlier this season with a hand injury. Team Leaders: Goals: Joe Pavelski 16…Assists: Joe Thornton 22…Points: Thornton 30…Plus/Minus: Marc-Eduoard Vlasic 10…Penalty Minutes: Andrew Desjardins 39…Hits: Tommy Wingels 136…Blocks: Justin Braun 61…Face Off Wins: Pavelski 280… Shots on Goal: Pavelski 126.

TAMPA BAY

Games this week

vs. Toronto, Buffalo, @ Pittsburgh, @ Ottawa

Rested team: vs. Toronto (Monday), vs. Ottawa (Sunday)

Tired Team: None

Notes

Ben Bishop is due back on December 27 so the Lightning sent standout netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy to Syracuse of the AHL before the break. Vasilevskiy was outstanding in his three game emergency recall as he was 2-1-0 with a 2.01 GAA and a .940 save percentage. I love the line of Nikita Kucherov, Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat and what’s not to like. They are carrying the team right now, more so than the Steve Stamkos line. Team Leaders: Goals: Steve Stamkos 19…Assists: Tyler Johnson 24…Points: Johnson 37…Plus/Minus: Johnson 23…Penalty Minutes: Brenden Morrow 36…Hits: Radko Gudas 108…Blocks: Matt Carle 58…Face Off Wins: Valtteri Filppula 244… Shots on Goal: Stamkos 115.

TORONTO

Games this week

@ Tampa Bay, @ Buffalo, @ Minnesota, @ Winnipeg

Rested team: None

Tired Team: @ Tampa Bay (Monday), @ Winnipeg (Saturday)

Notes

The Maple Leafs hit the road for four games this week including three games in four nights. Jonathan Bernier should get into three games with James Reimer likely going in his home province of Manitoba as the Leafs take on the Jets on Saturday. The Leafs have four players in the top-23 in the hits category as Cody Franson is 19th, the injured Leo Komarov is 21st and Dion Phaneuf is 23rd with Roman Polak leading the team and 16th over all. Team Leaders: Goals: Phil Kessel 17…Assists: Kessel 21…Points: Kessel 38…Plus/Minus: Mike Santorello 14…Penalty Minutes: Dion Phaneuf 65…Hits: Roman Polak 102…Blocks: Phaneuf 77…Face Off Wins: Tyler Bozak 420… Shots on Goal: Kessel 114.

VANCOUVER

Games this week

@ San Jose, vs. Los Angeles, vs. Detroit

Rested Team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

It looked very serious when Jannik Hansen collapsed on the bench December 20 but so far so good as all the tests thus far have returned as normal. He sat out Monday’s tilt as the Canucks still want to do some extra testing to be sure. Alex Burrows has eight goals in his first 28 games, a lot better than last season’s five goal performance in 49 contests. Team Leaders: Goals: Radim Vrbata 13…Assists: Henrik Sedin 23…Points: Daniel Sedin 30…Plus/Minus: Henrik Sedin 6…Penalty Minutes: Derek Dorsett 77…Hits: Derek Dorsett 77…Blocks: Chris Tanev 82…Face Off Wins: Henrik Sedin 325… Shots on Goal: Vrbata 116.

WASHINGTON

Games this week

@ New York Islanders, vs. Chicago, vs. Florida

Rested team: None

Tired Team: None

Notes

Coach Barry Trotz made Tom Wilson a healthy scratch on Tuesday as he thought that Wilson’s game was ‘falling off’. Look for Wilson to return on December 27 with a bang. Justin Peters has not started a game since November 29 as Trotz has been going with Braden Holtby. Aaron Volpatti completed a conditioning stint in the minors but was recalled and put on the injured reserve list for his neck injury again. Team Leaders: Goals: Alex Ovechkin 16…Assists: Nicklas Backstrom 25…Points: Backstrom 36…Plus/Minus: John Carlson 11…Penalty Minutes: Tom Wilson 69…Hits: Brooks Orpik 127…Blocks: Orpik 91…Face Off Wins: Backstrom 369… Shots on Goal: Ovechkin 163.

WINNIPEG

Games this week

vs. Minnesota, vs. New York Islanders, vs. Toronto

Rested team: None

Tired Team: vs. Toronto (Saturday)

Notes

The Jets play the Wild at home in the back end of the home-and-home series so look for Dustin Byfuglien, Evander Kane or Jay Harrison to get some penalty minutes if there are any fisticuffs involved. Mathieu Perreault has six goals in his last 10 games. He has played well since being put on a line with Michael Frolik and Mark Scheifele. Team Leaders: Goals: Bryan Little 13…Assists: Blake Wheeler 15…Points: Wheeler and Andrew Ladd 25…Plus/Minus: Michael Frolik 8…Penalty Minutes: Dustin Byfuglien 53…Hits: Byfuglien 102…Blocks: Mark Stuart 74…Face Off Wins: Little 359… Shots on Goal: Byfuglien 113.
