Sharks reach agreement with Desjardins, Sheppard

The San Jose Sharks agreed to contract terms with restricted free-agent forwards James Sheppard and Andrew Desjardins.

Desjardins signed a two-year deal and Sheppard's contract is for one year. No financial details were disclosed by the team.

Sheppard, 25, played in 32 regular-season games and had one goal and three assists. He also was on the ice for all 11 of the Sharks' playoff games.

Desjardins, 26, had two goals and one assists in 42 regular-season games and also appeared in all 11 postseason games.

"James played his best hockey for us in the playoffs and his game continues to improve after missing the past couple seasons," Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said in a statement. "Andrew is a player that plays with an edge, can kill penalties and has the ability to play the North-South game we desire."
