Senators' Gryba suspended two games

Ottawa Senators defenseman Eric Gryba was suspended for two games by the NHL on Friday for an illegal check to the head of Montreal Canadiens forward Lars Eller on Thursday.

The incident occurred at 13:28 of the second period of Game 1 of the first-round playoff series. Gryba was assessed a major penalty for interference and a game misconduct.

Eller has been released from the hospital after being treated for a concussion and facial fractures sustained from the hit.

Eller was taken off on a stretcher and hospitalized after losing consciousness. He had fallen face-first onto the ice, knocking out teeth and causing a lot of blood to be left on the ice.

Gryba had two goals and four assists in 33 games during the regular season.
