Saints sign Ayodele to one-year deal

Defensive tackle Remi Ayodele signed a one-year contract with the Saints.

Ayodele played the 2011 season with the Vikings, starting 13 of 16 games, but was released on March 21.

Ayodele signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the Vikings in August 2011.

Before joining the Vikings, he spent the previous three season with the Saints.

Ayodele started 29 of 31 games in which he played in 2009 and 10 in New Orleans. He is identified as one of the players -- defensive end Bobby McCray was the other -- who hit Brett Favre in the 2009 NFC Championship game on the play that resulted in Favre's severe ankle injury. Ayodele hit Favre high, while McCray made the low hit.
