Ryan denies he was hired by Rams

Rob Ryan denied that he was hired to be the St. Louis Rams' defensive coordinator.

The New York Post reported the hire on Friday. Ryan was recently fired as the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator. The Cowboys hired 72-year-old Monte Kiffin as Ryan's replacement.

"I'm on a beach and have talked to nobody and have no comment," Ryan told ESPN Dallas.

The Rams fired defensive coordinator Gregg Williams after the regular season ended. He has been under suspension by the NFL because of the New Orleans Saints' "bounty" program when he was their defensive coach.

St. Louis coach Jeff Fisher doled out much of the defensive responsibilities in 2012 to linebackers coach Blake Williams, the son of Gregg Williams.
