Rondo cleared to fully practice

Boston Celtics coach Brad Stevens said Saturday that point guard Rajon Rondo has been cleared by Dr. James Andrews to fully practice.

However, it is not known when he will be able to play. Stevens does not expect him before Jan. 1.

Rondo is recovering from an ACL tear in his right knee that he sustained at Atlanta on Jan. 25. Andrews performed the surgery on Feb. 15.

Without Rondo, the Celtics lead the Atlanta Division with an 11-14 record.

Rondo played in just 38 games last season. He averaged 13.7 points, 11.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds before having his season cut short.
