Report: Wade had knee drained before Game 3
Although Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade has downplayed the injury to his knee during the series against Indiana, he had his knee drained on Wednesday prior to Thursday's Game 3 loss, ESPN.com reported Sunday based on multiple sources.
After having fluid drained, Wade had one of the worst playoff games of his career, scoring five points in the 94-75 loss to the Pacers in Game 3.
However, he responded with 30 points in the Heat's Game 4 victory on Sunday.
Wade declined to comment on the draining procedure after Game 4, saying only, "If I'm in uniform, I am ready to play."
Wade had surgery on the knee four years ago, and problems apparently arose after Game 1.
In Game 3, Wade had trouble driving to the basket and went scoreless in the first half. During a timeout, Wade had a heated exchange with coach Erik Spoelstra.
Wade spent Friday at Indiana University with coach Tom Crean, who was Wade's college coach during this three seasons at Marquette.
