Report: Stokley set to sign with Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens plan to sign veteran wide receiver Brandon Stokley, according to a Baltimore Sun report.

The 37-year-old Stokley has been without an NFL job since the Denver Broncos decided against bringing him back this season after they signed free-agent Wes Welker.

Last year, Stokley teamed with quarterback Peyton Manning to catch 45 passes for 544 yards and five touchdowns -- his best season since 2008 when the two were with the Indianapolis Colts.

The addition of Stokley will give the Ravens some receiving help behind Torrey Smith ahd Jacoby Jones after Anquan Boldin left as a free agent in the offseason and tight end Dennis Pitta suffered a season-ending injury.

Stokley played for the Ravens from 1999 to 2002 and caught three passes for 52 yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl XXXV victory over the New York Giants. But Stokley did not develop into a consistent pass-catching threat until he joined Manning and the Colts. Stokley had his best season in 2004 with 68 receptions for 1077 yards and 10 touchdowns.
