Report: Pirates reach agreement with first-round pick

The Pittsburgh Pirates reached agreement on a contract with first-round draft pick Reese McGuire, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported.

McGuire, a high school catcher from Kent, Wash., was selected 14th overall in this month's draft. According to the report, McGuire will receive a bonus of about $2.56 million, which is the slot value for that pick.

The Pirates have yet to sign No. 9 overall pick Austin Meadows, an 18-year-old outfielder.
