Report: NFL putting together an investigative unit for future incidents

As the NFL flounders around, trying to figure out how to navigate all its domestic violence issues, and after a debacle of a Roger Goodell press conference on Friday, the NFL will attempt to be proactive moving forward.

So, the league is in talks to create a special-tasks unit that will handle investigations for future incidents, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.

The NFL reportedly has been talking to a variety of people -- including law enforcement officials and judges -- in order to figure out how to put together an investigative unit like that.

The reason the league would want to create its own unit was so, in case an incident like Ray Rice would occur again, the NFL wouldn't be so reliant on local law enforcement and prosecutors in order to procure the information the league would need.
