Report: Knee surgery will delay Grady Sizemore's return
Free agent outfielder Grady Sizemore, who missed the entire 2012 season, had microfracture surgery on his right knee in September, his agent, Joe Urbon, told MLB.com.
As a result, Sizemore might not be ready to play in a major league game until midseason, at the earliest.
Sizemore, who has played his entire career with the Indians, had microfracture surgery on his left knee in June 2010. He returned to action the following April but appeared in just 71 games in that 2011 season.
He didn't play all after signing a one-year, $5 million contract with Cleveland for 2012.
Sizemore had arthroscopic surgery on his knee near the end of the 2011 season, but the knee has continued to give him problems.
Sizemore, 30, has played in just 210 games over the last four years. But he is a three-time All-Star who hit 33 homers with 38 steals in 2008.
