Report: Eagles to sign QB Kinne

G.J. Kinne is expected to join the Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback mix once he's officially released from his Arena Football League contract.

Kinne tweeted on Thursday that he was "officially" an Eagle after working out for new head coach Chip Kelly. While he still needs to be formally released by the San Antonio Talons, all signs point to Kinne joining a quarterback group that includes Michael Vick, Nick Foles, Trent Edwards and Dennis Dixon.

Kinne threw for more than 6,000 yards as a three-year starter for Tulsa after transferring from Texas, and was in training camp with the New York Jets last year.

Kinne, 24, recently signed with the Talons after playing for the Nebraska Nighthawks of the UFL last year.
