Report: Clemens to pitch for independent league team Saturday

Roger Clemens hasn't said much since his most recent victory in the courtroom, but he's planning to make another statement on the baseball field this weekend.

Clemens, according to FOX 26 in Houston, signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters and will start Saturday's game for the independent Atlantic League team.

The 50-year-old was acquitted of perjury charges in a federal case in June. The unanimous verdict vindicated Clemens, who hasn't pitched since 2007.

In a workout Monday, Clemens hit 87 miles per hour on the radar gun, according to the team.
