Report: Broncos offered John Lynch many jobs
Former Denver Broncos strong safety star John Lynch was recently named the new general manager of the San Francisco 49ers. This comes after spending the last several years as an NFL announcer for Fox Sports.

Lynch played with the Broncos from 2004 to 2007, reaching the Pro Bowl every one of those years. He also won Super Bowl 37 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But as it turns out, Lynch could have been in the front office a long time ago. Vic Lombardi reported that Lynch knew quite some time ago he was ready to be a general manager:

Kent Erickson from Mile High Sports Radio also noted that owner Pat Bowlen tried to get Lynch in the team’s front office on many occasions:

Lynch had no reason to rush into a front office job, which is one of the most demanding in professional sports. He also had a remarkable time as a broadcaster for Fox – a job that’s fairly hard to leave.
Though it would have been nice for Broncos fans to see Lynch working in the front office, the man deserves a major opportunity like this. It’ll be interesting if he can help the 49ers restore the few nice years they had under Jim Harbaugh for four seasons.
That could be a bigger challenge than anything he had on the field as a strong safety.
