Ravens S Pollard fined $15,250

Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard was fined $15,250 by the NFL for his hit to the head/neck area of New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, the Boston Herald reported Friday.

Pollard was penalized for the hit in the third quarter of Baltimore's 28-13 win over New England in last Sunday's AFC Championship Game.

However, he was not fined for his helmet-to-helmet hit that knocked Patriots running back Stevan Ridley out of the game. Pollard was not penalized on that play.
