Press Box: Wallace makes NASCAR Hall; Andretti adds IndyCar driver
Rusty Wallace will drive his famed car "Midnight" into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
The winner of 55 races and the 1989 Cup championship will headline the fourth group of inductees, along with champions Buck Baker and Herb Thomas, championship car owner Cotton Owens and innovative crew chief, mechanic and engine builder Leonard Wood.
Midnight will be part of Wallace's Hall of Fame display. He drove that car to 13 wins from 1992-94.
---Andretti Autosport added EJ Viso as a driver, giving the IndyCar team a four-car lineup this season.
Viso joins team that includes defending IndyCar champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, James Hinchcliffe and Mario Andretti. He'll drive the No. 5 Team Venezuela PDVSA Chevrolet.
The Caracas, Venezuela native is entering his sixth season in IndyCar. He drove for KV Racing Technologies last season, and has 16 career top-10 finishes.
CYCLING
Cyclist Lance Armstrong is being sued for $12 million in bonuses paid to him for winning the Tour de France.
SCA Promotions filed a lawsuit Thursday in Dallas district court, according to multiple reports, claiming that Armstrong's admission that he took performance-enhancing drugs proves a conspiracy to cheat and defraud the company.
Armstrong's lawyer, Tim Herman, told USA Today that there was no precedent for such a payback.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
One day later, Alex Collins is set to become an Arkansas Razorback, after the star tailback officially signed a letter of intent during a afternoon press conference.
The ceremony comes nearly 24 hours after Collins' mother refused to sign the paperwork, as a parent or guardian is required. Instead, Collins' father, Johnny Collins signed the letter.
Andrea McDonald, Collins' mother, has hired the Cochran Firm to represent her in case of litigation. She had wanted Alex to sign with Miami and be closer to home.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Florida Gators forward Will Yeguete will miss the rest of the regular season after knee surgery.
Yeguete will have arthroscopic surgery Friday to remove loose bodies. He has dealt with tendinitis all season, but coach Billy Donovan told reporters that his knee had "significant swelling" in recent weeks.
Yeguete was averaging 6.0 points and 6.3 rebounds this season, usually as the first player off the bench.
