PRESS BOX: Cavaliers suspend Bynum
The Cleveland Cavaliers suspended center Andrew Bynum indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team, the Cavs announced Saturday.
Bynum did not travel with the team to Boston for Saturday's game against the Celtics and was excused from all team activities indefinitely. The Cavs said they will update his status at a later time.
Point guard Kyrie Irving said, "It's just a terrible situation internally with our team. It's just something we have to get over. We need him out there. He's a dominant force for our team."
ESPN.com reported that the Cavaliers will look into trading Bynum. The center wants to be dealt to the Miami Heat or Los Angeles Clippers, according to multiple reports.
---Miami Heat star forward LeBron James is considered a game-time decision against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday after tweaking his groin and aggravating an ankle sprain.
James is questionable to play after getting banged up Friday night at the Sacramento Kings. He played through the injuries, scoring 33 points and adding eight assists in 44 minutes.

University of Washington junior tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins announced after the Huskies' 31-16 victory on Friday night over BYU in the Fight Hunger Bowl that he will forgo his final year of eligibility and declare for the 2014 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-7, 270-pound Seferian-Jenkins is the No. 3-ranked tight end and No. 40 overall prospect for the 2014 draft, according to current ratings by NFLDraftScout.com. He was expected to declare for the draft with the Washington program transitioning from former coach Steve Sarkisian to Chris Petersen and with senior quarterback Keith Price also leaving.
Huskies junior Bishop Sankey, the No. 3-ranked running back and No. 54 overall prospect by NFLDraftScout.com, said he is still undecided about whether he will return for his senior season.
Seferian-Jenkins won the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end this season and was given a second-round grade by the NFL Advisory Committee, according to the Seattle Times.
---Notre Dame announced Saturday that it suspended running back George Atkinson and cornerback Jalen Brown hours before the Pinstripe Bowl against Rutgers.
The school cited a violation of team rules for the suspensions. However, Atkinson explained on Twitter why he believed he was suspended.
"For those of you who are wondering, I was suspended from today's game for texting friends and family during team meal, as I did all season," he wrote.
Atkinson is second on the team with 555 rushing yards Brown, a junior, played in two games this season.

The Texas Rangers will likely return right-hander Neftali Feliz to his old role as closer, according to MLB.com.
Righty Joe Nathan closed games for the Rangers the past two seasons but signed a free-agent deal with the Detroit Tigers earlier in the offseason.
Feliz, 25, served as the Rangers' closer in their World Series seasons in 2010 and '11, racking up 72 saves. However, he was moved to the rotation after Texas picked up Nathan. After just seven starts, however, Feliz injured his throwing elbow and had Tommy John surgery.
