Police want to interview Titans' Britt about stabbing

Jersey City (N.J.) police are attempting to locate Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt to question him about a friend's stabbing Sunday in which Britt drove the victim to a nearby hospital.

Police spokesman Capt. Edgar Martinez said officers are trying to interview all guests that attended the Sunday night house party where a gun was fired through a first-floor window -- no one was injured, Martinez said -- and then Britt's unidentified friend was stabbed.

"We need to interview all the parties involved, and [Britt] has refused to come in, so the statements that he's putting out that he's cooperated with the investigation are false. We're trying to ascertain his location," Martinez said in a press conference.

Authorities are also discussing the case with the Hudson County Prosecutor's office.

"There was a stabbing and a shooting in the same incident -- and we need to speak to everyone who was there," Martinez said. "[Britt] drove the guy to the hospital. [Britt] was at a dinner, the party, with his pregnant girlfriend."

NFL officials are also investigating.
