Philadelphia Soul 79, Orlando Predators 48

PHILADELPHIA - An Arena Football League rarity led to another dose of the same old thing for Orlando Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center.

With Derrick Ross rushing for 84 yards and five touchdowns on just nine carries, Philadelphia stayed atop the East Division with a 79-48 hammering of the 1-10 Predators. It's the fifth straight loss for Orlando - its second five-game losing streak of the year.

This one was never really in doubt as the Soul (9-3) opened up a 37-20 halftime lead, then put it away in the third quarter as Ross scored on three short runs for a 38-point advantage. Ross now has 23 touchdown runs this year, a stunning stat in a league where passing comprises almost all of most teams' offenses.

By the time Chris Leak got the Predators on the board late in the third, they trailed 58-27 and the game's remainder was for stat-padding.

Leak finished the night 21-of-32 for 265 yards and six touchdowns, but also tossed three interceptions. Jarvis Williams caught 10 passes for 99 yards and four scores, while T.T. Toliver ended with 106 yards and two touchdowns on five receptions.

Philadelphia quarterback Dan Raudabaugh was an efficient 17-of-24 for 229 yards and four scores, three going to Tiger Jones, who finished with 127 yards on nine catches. Donovan Morgan and Emery Sammons added scoring receptions for the Soul.

Orlando's Chris Jamison rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown on just seven carries. Justin Hannah led the defense with eight tackles and an interception.

The Predators face a trip to West Division co-leader San Jose next Friday night.
