Phil Hughes continues having fun at A-Rod's expense on Twitter
You can’t get anything past Phil Hughes. The Minnesota Twins hurler is as perceptive as he is effective on the pitching mound, and no one knows that better now than former Yankees teammate Alex Rodriguez.
For example, a couple months ago Rodriguez posted a photo with his two daughters on Twitter. To most, it was simply a nice family photo. However, Hughes couldn’t help but notice and point out the tire behind them, which randomly sat in A-Rod’s front yard.

It was a little weird, but it was nothing compared to what Hughes spotted in A-Rod’s most recent Twitter photo on Friday night.
Thank you Coach @Elliott_Avent & @JoeDunand for letting me speak to your @NCStateBaseball team. Good luck. pic.twitter.com/AnnmLqlkvF

Your eyes do not deceive you. That’s Alex Rodriguez speaking to the North Carolina State baseball team. Also, as the zoomed photo confirms, he has his sweatpants tucked into his socks.
Why? Because that’s so A-Rod.
Of course, what followed was an endless stream of dad jokes from A-Rod and Hughes’ followers. Then came a direct response from A-Rod, which Hughes countered with another Twitter takedown.
@AROD if my pants start tucking themselves into my socks then I'm fine with nieces and nephews

Truth be told, it takes a special friendship to call out such a fashion faux pas publicly. A-Rod and Hughes clearly have that type of friendship, and we’re all the better for experiencing it firsthand.
Also, never forget this tweet Hughes has pinned atop his feed.

#BaeRod forever.
