Packers place TE Finley on IR

The Packers placed tight end Jermichael Finley on injured reserve which will end his season, the team announced Tuesday.

The Packers also activated tackle Derek Sherrod from reserve/physically unable to perform and placed linebacker Sam Barrington on injured reserve.

Finley, who suffered a spinal cord contusion two weeks ago, played in six games with five starts this season and caught 25 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns. He is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

Barrington appeared in seven games and recorded three tackles on special teams.

Sherrod is a former first-round pick who hasn't played in a game in nearly two years because of broken leg and complications from surgery.
