Oregon paid tribute to Nebraska punter Sam Foltz before taking on the Huskers Saturday afternoon.

About two hours before kickoff, the team placed green-and-gold flowers at the 27-yard-line. Foltz, who was killed in a car crash along with former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler in July, wore No. 27 at Nebraska.

Nebraska paid tribute to Foltz during its first game of the season. The team lined up without a punter the first time it was set to punt and took a delay of game penalty. Fresno State declined the penalty out of respect to the gesture.

The team is also wearing helmet decals with Foltz’s initials and has established a scholarship fund in his name.
