North Carolina State's Leslie to enter draft, Purvis to transfer

North Carolina State lost two starters on Monday.

Junior C.J. Leslie announced he will give up his final year of eligibility to enter the NBA Draft, and freshman guard Rodney Purvis will transfer.

The Raleigh News & Observer first reported Purvis' decision to transfer, and he confirmed it on his Twtter account, saying, "Tears won't stop falling. I enjoyed every moment here. I still love you guys, no matter how you may feel towards me. Thank y'all!"

Purvis averaged 8.3 points and 2.4 rebounds this season while starting 23 games.

Leslie joins teammate Lorenzo Brown as Wolfpack players who have decided to turn pro.

"'It's one of those things where you just know it's just time, it's time to move on,'' Leslie said during a news conference. ''That's what I feel like in my heart. My family, they feel the same way I do. It was just one of those things where we felt like it was time to move on.''

The 6-foot-9 Leslie averaged a team-high 15 points and 7.4 rebounds. He was a third-team all-ACC pick by both the media and the coaches.
