No beats were missed in Spurs' Game 1 victory

The San Antonio Spurs picked up right where they left in sweeping Utah by picking apart the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals Tuesday night.

San Antonio pulled away in the fourth quarter to win 108-92 and take the 1-0 series lead. It marked the fifth consecutive playoff win for the Spurs and 15th victory in a row dating back to the regular season.

San Antonio shot 49 percent and had four players score at least 15. Tony Parker wasn't one of those four, but he did dish out 11 assists.

"It started with the ball movement," Tim Duncan said. "We know they are going to be physical and we know they are going to pack it into the lane. Tony did a great job of getting into the lane and finding shooters and obviously our guys shot the ball well.

"That is the way we want to play the game and that is the way we want to move the ball. We want to share the ball and we have very good shooters and we want them to shoot wide open shots."

The Spurs hadn't played since eliminating the Jazz on May 7. The Clippers played Sunday at Memphis.

"It was hard to tell if they (Clippers) were tired or not, or if we were rusty or not," Manu Ginobili said. "The game developed the way it did. Chris (Paul) didn't have a good game, but Tony was not great either.

"It was a tough game. Both teams played hard. We kind of matched their aggressiveness. That is what we wanted to do."

The series continues Thursday in San Antonio before shifting to Los Angeles for the next two games.
