NHL Three Stars: Toews OT goal wins it for Blackhawks vs. Wild
No. 1 Star: Jonathan Toews, Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks captain put home a rebound to give Chicago a 4-3 overtime victory over the Minnesota Wild. With Ryan Suter in the box for a holding call, Duncan Keith’s blast was stopped by Darcy Kuemper, but Toews was on the doorstep to give himself a three-point night.
No. 2 Star: Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks
Crawford stopped 35 shots to help record his third straight win. One of his biggest saves came on a Suter breakaway in overtime:
No. 3 Star: Richard Panik, Chicago Blackhawks
Panik scored his career-best 12th of the season and assisted on another in the win.
Honorable Mention: Chicago snapped their eight-game losing streak to the Wild … Erik Haula’s late goal sent the game to overtime. He now has five goals and 10 points in 15 career games against the Blackhawks … Duncan Keith picked up a pair of assists and now has five helpers in his last three games … Nino Neiderreiter also has two assists and has four points in his last two games.
Did You Know? Charlie Coyle played in his 284th consecutive game, a new Wild franchise record. (Russo)
Dishonorable Mention: This decision was a head-scratcher … A little interference here by Eric Staal to help Haula’s goal?
