June 1 (The Sports Xchange) - The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired defenseman Daniel Walcott from the New York Rangers on Monday in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the upcoming draft. Walcott recorded 17 goals and 80 points with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League over the past two seasons. He also has five goals and 14 points in 25 playoff games with the Armada. The Rangers receive the pick they sent to the Lightning as part of a 2014 trade in which they acquired forward Martin St. Louis. The draft will be held June 26 and 27 in Sunrise, Fla. - - - The Arizona Coyotes signed assistant general manager John Chayka to a multi-year contract and promoted Chris O'Hearn to assistant general manager for hockey operations, general manager Don Maloney announced. Maloney also said assistant GM Darcy Regier will operate as GM of the Springfield Falcons, the Coyotes' American Hockey League affiliate. Chayka, 25, will be involved in all areas of hockey operations and player development and coaching support. - - - The Columbus Blue Jackets signed defensemen Blake Siebenaler and Dean Kukan to multi-year entry level contracts.
