Feb 14 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Sunday's National Hockey League games. - - Blues 2, Lightning 1 The Lightning avoided their first shutout in nearly two months, but took another loss, with St. Louis goalie Brian Elliott stopping the first 35 Tampa Bay shots and the Blues holding on for a 2-1 victory at Amalie Arena. St. Louis (32-17-9) got a goal in the opening minute of the second period on a breakaway by center Robby Fabbri and made that lead stick, even as they were outshot by a 2-to-1 margin for most of the game. Tampa Bay (30-21-4) has now lost three of its last four to drop into a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the tightly bunched Eastern Conference standings. - - Red Wings 6, Bruins 5 Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg had two goals and an assist, including the game winner in the third period, as the Red Wings scored a 6-5 win over the Boston Bruins at Joe Louis Arena. Pavel Datsyuk had two goals and an assist to surpass 900 points for his career and Darren Helm also scored twice for Detroit. Goalie Petr Mrazek stopped 17 shots. - - Sabres 4, Avalanche 1 The Buffalo Sabres scored twice in the first 4:42 against Colorado and let goalie Robin Lehner do the rest. The Rangers (32-18-6) are 5-0-1 in their past six games and 8-2-1 in their past 11. - - Devils 1, Kings 0 Defenseman David Schlemko's power play goal 5:19 into the first period was all of the offense the New Jersey Devils would need in their 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings at the Prudential Center. New Jersey improved to 29-21-7 with its third straight win. Goaltender Keith Kinkaid made 26 saves to knot his first NHL shutout.
