Dec 18 (The Sports Xchange) - Highlights of Friday's National Hockey League games. - - Capitals 5, Lightning 3 Alex Ovechkin scored a pair of power-play goals and added two assists, and Marcus Johansson's power-play tally put Washington ahead with 5:44 left, as the Capitals rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-3. Washington winger T.J. Oshie, who ended the night with an empty-netter, also had an unassisted goal, which pulled Washington to within 3-2 early in the third before Ovechkin tied it with 9:58 left. Oshie added two assists. - - Bruins 6, Penguins 2 Boston center Frank Vatrano scored three goals and Patrice Bergeron had two as the Bruins beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-2. Loui Eriksson also had a goal as the Bruins scored goals 5-on-5, 4-on-4, short-handed and on the power play to support goaltender Tuukka Rask, who made 30 saves in improving to 8-0-2 in his last 10 games. The Bruins are 11-2-2 on the road this season. - - Panthers 2, Hurricanes 0 Florida defenseman Willie Mitchell's first goal of the season broke a scoreless tie in the third period as the Panthers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 2-0 at PNC Arena. Goalie Roberto Luongo stopped 24 shots, recording his 70th career shutout and his second against Carolina. - - Senators 4, Sharks 2 The Ottawa Senators scored four unanswered goals en route to a 4-2 win over the San Jose Sharks at Canadian Tire Centre. Senators goaltender Craig Anderson and Sharks goalie Alex Stalock were both solid, with Ottawa outshooting San Jose 35-33. - - Jets 5, Rangers 2 Winnipeg center Bryan Little scored a pair of first-period goals and added an assist to lead the Jets to a 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers at the MTS Centre. Little's 11th and 12th goals of the season gave the Jets an early 2-0 lead, defenseman Dustin Byfuglien scored his ninth and fellow blue-liner Tyler Myers added his third for the Jets (15-15-2) in the second period. - - Canucks 4, Red Wings 3 (shootout) Canucks center Linden Vey and Radim Vrbata scored in the shootout to give Vancouver a 4-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena.
