NBC continues to set Olympics ratings records, with the 21.7 overnight rating for Sunday night's coverage the highest ever overnight mark for the first Sunday of a Summer Olympics outside of the United States, according to The Sports Business Daily. That mark was 2% higher than the first Sunday for the Beijing Olympics in 2008, and third all-time behind only a 26.0 overnight for the 1996 Atlanta Games and a 26.9 for the '84 Los Angeles Games. Primetime coverage through the first two nights of the London Games scored an 18.8 rating and 35.6 million viewers, the highest viewership on record, according to The Daily.
