NBA Roundup: Bogut returns to Warriors, Adelman rejoins Wolves

Andrew Bogut rejoined the Golden State Warriors' lineup, starting Monday night's game at Toronto.

The 7-foot-1 center, acquired in March from the Milwaukee Bucks in the deal that involved Monta Ellis, played in four games this season before experiencing complications with his surgically repaired left ankle. Bogut had microfracture surgery in April.

The team announced Bogut needed rest five games into the season, but instead of a 10-day absence, he was shut down for more than two months, a decision the Warriors and coach Mark Jackson left to Bogut.

Because Bogut has not participated in a full team practice since November, it's likely he'll be eased back into competition.

--Minnesota Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman returned to the team after a three-week absence to be with wife Mary Kay, who is being treated for an undisclosed illness.

Adelman coached the team during practice Monday and told reporters that he plans to coach Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He said his wife's condition is improving.

"It's hard," Adelman said. "I've never done this. It's never happened. But there's some things that are more important than basketball or anything else. I think the team understands that. Hopefully things will settle down here now."

Assistant coach Terry Porter has filled in for Adelman, who has kept in constant contact with the team throughout his absence.

The Timberwolves went 2-9 without Adelman, and are now 17-24, having lost their last four games. They have also been plagued with injuries to stars Kevin Love and Brandon Roy, among others, and point guard Ricky Rubio is still recovering from a torn left ACL.

--The Philadelphia 76ers announced that they signed guard Shelvin Mack to a second 10-day contract. Mack has played in two games for the Sixers this season. He is averaging 4.3 points, 2.6 assists and 1.8 rebounds in nine games for the Sixers and the Washington Wizards.
